I have a IBM Model M and can't complain about cleaning. But I've heard it's not doing so well with fluids. I've never had such an incident, though.
For me the reason not to buy a modern keyboard is the fear of cheap plastics. Keys become shiny within a year or two and most keypad prints wear off even faster. And we're talking about keyboards $100+. I don't have that problem with the Model M... and it's 36 years old now :D
Common HW2 problem. Activate or deactivate vsync in the options.
It's waiting to be processed. Be patient.
We have identified the problem and already fixed it in our most recent working repository. Sadly there will be no special patch released to fix this error, but the fix will be included in the next larger update (release gamma, this year).
No, this is not normal. What graphics card are you using?
Yes.
It'd have been too boring if all bugs were finally fixed :D
Thanks for reporting it and I'm sorry for the late answer.
Hmm, that's no known error. Did the STC beta installer install without any notification?
I love the model :), but like Zero said, normal maps are better for an ingame model. Especially having in mind that HW2 has a bad z-buffer, which leads to flickering if two polygon layers lie near on top of each other. So...:
Are you using the correct shader? (matte)
Are all shader channels (parameters) named correctly?
Have you activated shadows in the game options and in the ship file? (necessary to render normal maps)
Very cool! Can't wait for it to happen :)
Are you playing in windowed mode? What's your resolution? Did you change the scaling settings in the GPU control panel?
No crack support here.
If performance is bad try enabling/disabling vsync in the options. If this doesn't work, come back here...
Which animations are buggy?
Ships can separate, go to the launch menu and launch the sections.
Have you installed the HW2 1.1 patch? Moddb.com
If there are still problems, try to use the 'Safe Deathmatch' game mode. There are problems with the other gamemodes in the most recent release... but this will be fixed soon.
Yet, there're no plans to add the Cheyenne Class. If we add it in future, I suppose we would add it to the TNG era. There's low chance for this though, as the TNG Federation already has enough ships, but admittedly the Cheyenne would make a good TNG successor for the Constellation class.

Go to the standard launch menu and... well, launch the sections^^

Can you post a screenshot of the visual errors? Perhaps try some older shaders?!
Anyone else here using a GTX 680?
We tested the new shaders on Intel HD 3000 and Intel HD 4000 cards and on these the mod now should run without problems. Could you please check if you have the latest drivers installed? --> Intel.com
Are you using the Desura or the Moddb version?
Go to the 'Launch menu' (shortcut 'L') and launch the parts!
We know :)
I just wish the moddb admins wouldn't have shown off with their *awesome* Photoshop skills...
First of all, can we please continue this discussion here: Moddb.com
or send me a PM. I don't want to clutter our front page...
There's nothing in the log, what should lead to a crash. Can you create a new HW2 profile and see if the error remains? (And perhaps delete your old profile files in \Homeworld2\Bin\Profiles\, just to be sure.)
This patch only works for the ModDB version, not for Desura. As far as I know, Desura doesn't allow patches.
err..Nathan? All Desura people have to re-download the mod to get the latest version, right?
If we give them zip or rar files they start to complain why we cannot make an installer.
Yes, it has to be applied to the existing installation, just as it says in the description above:
1. Download this: Moddb.com
2. Install it.
3. Download this: Moddb.com
4. Install it.
5. Play!
The fix is out! Intel HD graphics cards do now work with the new shaders :)
Thank you :)
The reason is: the HW2 numbers are no good representation of the actual strength of a ship. The strength of a ship depends crucially on how you put your ship to use.
The main difference between the Defiant and the Nova is that the Defiant has focused firepower, whereas the Nova has spread firepower: all weapons of the Defiant point forward, the phasers of the Nova point in different directions. This makes the Defiant very efficient against single ships (it can unload its full weapon power in each attack run), the Nova however is good if surrounded by several small ships (omnidirectional defense).
The Homeworld 2 numbers might also play a trick on you, because the phaser arcs on the Nova are set together out of several single weapons (turrets) to cover the full arcs. I just had a quick look at the actual numbers in the ship files and the Nova might have slightly more health than the Defiant, but the Defiant has a roughly 25% higher regeneration rate and about 1/3 lower (mean faster) acceleration and rotation times.
In a 1vs1 fight, Nova vs Defiant, the Defiant will always prevail.
