Fallout 1.5: Resurrection

Mod review

I thought I'd drop by and leave a review before I forget about it.

Basically, this is the best total conversion mod for Fallout 2 I've ever played (Mutants Rising hasn't been released yet).
While playing I experienced the same joy as with the original games. The first half of the game was thoroughly a bliss to play, story branching, multiple ways to solve quests and a completely new areas to explore, full of mysteries, atrocities and skulduggeries.
However, the second half was much more straight forward and linear. I felt that part didn't benefit the same amount of attention as the first half. Also, some quests are a little rough around the edges, but nothing to complain about.

Anyway, this is just a detail compared to the awesomeness of what the mod has to offer.

If you're a fallout fan (I mean, a "true" fallout fan), you need to give this mod a try.

Call of Warhammer: Beginning of The End Times

Mod review

Interesting, polished and enjoyable Warhammer experience. Depending on which camp you come from you may have a slight learning curve, but its definitely worth it as this game has plenty to sink your teeth into if you're a fan of strategy, high-fantasy, or both.

Warsword Conquest

Mod review

Updated review. I tried to like this mod, I'm a fan of both Warhammer and M&B, but this doesn't work for me. The mod team aimed too big and the result still feels like a shallow reskin of the vanilla game. It suffers the comparison with mods like "Prophesy of Pendor" or even "Grim Age", where the whole feels more tied together, with interesting storytelling elements and an actual sense of progression. Warsword Conquest is poorly balanced because it was definitely too much to handle for a small team of developers, everytime I start a new game I lose interest more quickly than with any other mod because of these problems. In my opinions, they have be focusing on one or two PLAYABLE factions and make sure the player's experience is finely-tuned, instead of proposing so many different shallow options.

This is my opinion, and I can understand why other players would still enjoy that mod if they aren't into storytelling and well balanced campaigns as I am.
