I just finished V2, and I have to say... As much as I liked the first half, and the attention to detail, the final acts were more frustrating than difficult.

The puzzles really lacked visual cues (the fuse parts were especially tedious), control was finicky in segments like the ventilation shaft, and the lack of explanation for the player character's memories -- or who he was for that matter -- particularly frustrated me. :/

Specifically, some puzzles started feeling very cut-and-paste. I think you should cut down on some sequences and puzzles, maybe less of the same mechanic? I think there's a reason Portal, for instance, only kept a specific mechanic for a few tests -- to reduce this sort of fatigue.

I know this seems very negative, but in the end, I DID like the mod! I just feel like it was very rough in the second half, and needed a bit more playtesting and feedback.

Actually, they also say "Come over here!" "Don't be afraid!" etc., much like the Portal turrets. So it may be a little fun to have them in Modular Combat. ^^

Well, I have to be honest. I'm happy you released this app, but now about half of my mod management project is obsolete. I'm coding a basic engine that would allow a user to install any mod on the site, and have it auto-patched, in one-click. It would understand mod pages and whether a file is an update, a full copy or something else and simplify the whole mod installation process. Since your official application will have somewhat of a closed catalogue, I guess I can still work on my own. And I guess an official app that uses an API, and thus would not need to decode HTML pages will function better. But I'm still a tad annoyed. :-|

But still, I'd like an invitation, if I may.

I know that bug. It's a problem with Source that happens rarely. I had it happen with Cinematic Mod. You mean the bug where it supposedly gets stuck on a screen, yet everything responds, right? When it seems like Windows won't repaint your screen with your currently open windows, desktop, etc. It's some sort of engine error.

You can retrieve the player's name and then execute "disconnect <playername>" to jump back to the main menu. Valve do this to end Portal: The First Slice.

That generally means you're missing some assets. Pink-black checkerboard-textured or just pink-colored objects mean the requested texture can't be found. Invisible objects could mean the same but for objects. Make sure you have Half-Life 2. (I'm not sure Episode One or Episode Two are OK, as they have the engine but not most of the textures or models HL2 does.)
