We run a small software house in Warsaw now, We have a lot of gamedev work hahaha.

HoMM 3 Complete Rampage is... a Game Maker game.
We still own the source files on GIT - and if we manage to convert the thing to Unity engine... WHO KNOWS XXD
There was some serious work done on October 2018, haha some multi Enemies AI implemented to proceed with Moonstone-like beat'em up mode.
Damn it would be so much faster to just develop it in Unity theese days.

In fact, we talked over the COOP last time our group met - it's not an easy job ^^

You are right, creating such "mod" is clearly impossible.
W're explaining it in the mod summary.
I really don't see any real harm, we could possible do to anyones business, be it ubisoft, or the NWC/3DO (which we truly respect for creating one of the best games in the world).
Still, you may be right, and we should create a better system for checking the original HoMM3 files.
The use of assets from classical games is widely practised among the freeware games, and mod creators around the world.
It's a freeware fan game, and it's hard to classify even for us.

Wikipedia says:
A mod, or modification, is the alteration of content from a video game in order to make it operate in a manner different from its original version.

Haha, yup, we wish to find enough time to add such mode in the future.
For now, it remain in a realm of dreams ;D but it's clearly possible.
It requires some really hard work though. It's our first project, and the code is kinda messy.
Anyway - the world belongs to brave people :D

I like it, looks really good.
I can suggest you to resize a character model proportions some day, to look more balanced :) The torso is slightly too big, and leans forward alot while running.
