8bit wav isn't the biggest reason why the sounds are awful at the moment, it's a part of the problem, sure.
There's a lot of things that can be done to make the sound much better in the future.

If anyone is checking this page, I'm working on NBA beta 3, it's gonna feature more maps and proper pathfinding for the bugs (thanks jukki from nzp dev team)
video quality is a bit off, I'm getting worried.
They look pretty much identical, some minor differences in sprite rendering. PSP version has better looking weapon sway straight from Kurok engine. PSP version I capped to 30 fps (can be uncapped from options menu), while PC version is uncapped by default.
To all people who've reported problems with weapon switching on PSP, try resetting all options to default and then try again. Don't try rebinding it from the buttons menu, that will not work. Otherwise I haven't been able to reproduce the issue.

Hmm, I was able to play it online without too much problems when testing. I haven't changed any network settings so default port should be the same.
Actually checked it, you can already invert your analog in the controls on PSP, you can also set analog to move and face buttons to look.
