I hope when you try again, it will get better with the good resolution and such.
A small tip to get you going, if you want to start shooting things you will need a turret.

You can select the turret in the weapons tab, once plaed you can select the parameter tool[Arrow] and click on the turret to assign a key, once assigned you can acces it and view first person.
To be able to acces the AI mode and shooting in first person you need to add a weapon onto the turret, this is very important as the AI will only work when a turret has an assigned weapon.

In future versions i will prepare a detailed tutorial to show all of this, so no one gets frustrated :)

It seems the bug is fixed now, another demo will be online shortly so you can play it in the resolution you see fit! :)

It seemed you only saw half of the game, so that may be why it was so difficult ;)

EDIT: new demo is online and ready to be downloaded!

Thank you for the comment, the resolution is a bug caused by selecting non native resolution and setting it to fullscreen.

I am aware of this issue and getting a fix for it as we speak, this is caused by Unity im afraid.

You could try using a higher resolution by selecting it in the start window when you start up the game.

Thank you for your comment, in the description of the download are some of these issues you are having described.

For example to remove blocks you can use the parameter tool on the right[ The Arrow ].
Each button has tooltips to tell you what they do, for destroy your creation to create a new one.
For the category names, we could do that it wouldn't be much work, besides that we have tooltips on each piece you can build to tell you exactly if it is a wheel or a rocket :p

And you did not misplace the wheels in any way, the wheels did exactly what they were supposed to do, with the parameter tool on the right you can select the pieces and change the direction the wheel turns [or press "F" while aimign at the wheel]
You will see the arrows on the wheel turn the other way so you can visually in which direction they will turn.

Also may i know what resolution you are using? That way i can have a look at buttons not appearing in the right positions.

Haha yea there are alot of ways we can go with this ;)

those monsters will have to be designed really well so it will work really well and smooth. If this will end up in the game it needs to be done is such a way it will be fun to do and not some "obstacle" you have to pass if you know what i mean :)

Something like the monsters of "Lost planet"? Those are huge.
Those monsters could have some kind of weak spot you need to exploit in order to get them down.

And for the mirror function i already forwarded it, so we will definitely see it in the future!

This is a very good idea indeed, this could save some valuable building time!
If i understand correctly, this way you only have to build 1 side and by turning on the mirror function it will automaticly build the other side.

I have added it to the future features :)

And about the big monster fights, this is also something we can look at, there are going to be many planets in many styles so why not one where there are monsters attacking right?

It may look similar at this stage but this is definitely not what we are aiming for, we are aiming for more deep gameplay than a sandbox level and destroying things.

In the next updates this will show much more clear, i hope you stick around to see!

It will be alot different from besiege no worries!
We are at an alpha stage and in this stage it looks similar because the content to make it different has not been uploaded yet.

Venture will have multiple game modes to play, there will be sandbox ofcourse but besides that there will be a defend mode.
This is the mode that makes the game stand out, you have to build creations to defend your resources which you need to build.
But instead of building 1 creation and destroying everything you will need strategy, you need to think what creations you are going to build and use within the resources you have.
See it as a RTS, you create many creations which can all be under your control or be set as a turret using AI.

If you have further questions or thoughts i will be more than happy to anwser them!

We will look into the animations and see how we can improve it, We still want to add 1 handed weapons with a whole different animation set.
And as for variety this is something we are working on because seeing the same animations over and over is not something we want.

Also we are currently reworking a mechanism for the melee combat, we are hoping to release it today or tomorrow!

there will be another gameplay video showing it off, it features new animations and more.

We are working hard on the combat system [ shooting and melee ] as this is one of the mechanics of the game, and we awnt it to be as smooth as possible.

Also the companion will run on almost the same system as the player which means they can make use of guns and melee combat!

Thank you for your comment, We have slow moving zombies and zombies that kinda run but those are rare.
We want the zombies to be "stupid" slow zombies are a good example of that.
besides that we do not have other zombie types than normal ones, however we do have soldier zombies that are more armoured.

Thank you for the comment, there are many games that is true but we want ours to stand out.
You can play as every character you have in your community each of them with their own set of skills, it is more about surviving with your community which you have build rather than just being a character in a world and you have to search for food and survive day by day while fighting zombies.

Are there any features or mechanics you would like to see in a game like this?
