I'm an indie writer, web designer, and visual novelist. This used to be the Paperviper profile, but I'm going to make a separate one for that later. Here's the original Paperviper description (for now, we are SenpaiJake games): This is the official Indiedb profile for Paperviper. We're a group of original indies formed to make epic games for free/cheap prices that the world can enjoy! Check us out on our website: paperviper.com

The expansion and future

SenpaiJake Blog

Hello everyone. Jake here from Paperviper. Sadly, our last post made little difference but meh, we'll still somehow form a good team! Today I want to discuss the future goals and ideas of Paperviper. Our games, which platforms they'll access, and more. As you may or may not know, at the moment we have one game in the process all being programmed by me (named WAGAKKIWA) that is a Visual Novel, and will be free for play on the Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. I see that however as a stand point, a back-bone as to what Paperviper will shape to be in the future. You may not know it, but one of our goals is to create more Japanese-styled games for English audiences; it sounds stupid but there are a great amount of people who thirst for things like original English Visual Novels or more games that are JRPG instead of your average Medieval setting.

Our plans of game type is very large indeed. We don't want to make too many games at once, but I can assure you there is a lot. I can leak now that we already have pre-production plans for some games like Farm Town (that you may know of), and other's like a First-Person Horror/Puzzler, A true life simulation, and more. Our main goal is to be an indie game company that makes great games for all to enjoy, and that's what we intend to do. I can foresee right now though, that most of our games will be EPIC Visual Novels and RPGs. Maybe because it's our personal favorites.

Now that that is out of the way, I'd like to discuss the subject of platforms, and what we tend to do in that area. Right now, as I write this I am downloading Sony's PSM SDK (Playstation Mobile SDK). Why? I was thinking about what WAGAKKIWA would be like for the PlayStationTMVita as well. When our team and capitol grows bigger, so will our reach. We would love to develop games for many consoles and platforms, but being the Director and Co-founder I can say our major interest is definitely in for the PlayStationTMVita, OUYA, Android, and Windows 8 (of course, all of the popular computer Operation Systems as well). The reason being to that is they are all systems that very much so cater to our 'indie' needs, and we also want to be the group that makes the Vita a recognized and great console. It's lack of good games is what is making people not see it's true beauty, and Paperviper wants to change that.

That's all I wanted to rant about today. Thank you for reading.

Paperviper looking for Programmers and 3D Modellers!

SenpaiJake Blog

Hello everyone,

For some time now we've been openly on the hunt for people just like us: gamers who hone skills that can contribute into the creation of video games. If you've read our About Page , you should already know a bit about our small group, what we do, and what we aim to be. Similar to the likes of Mojang and other companies along the line; we ("Paperviper") want to grow into our own little indie game company through the process of creating games. Right now, Co-founder of Paperviper Jake is working on WAGAKKIWA, which you may have seen floating around here on IndieDB. Though this is to be an official Paperviper game, it's continuing to be a one-man project (with the exception of contributions from some great people!) But we of Paperviper have many more ideas we would love to turn into games and leak out into the world for people to enjoy. To do so, we'd naturally need to build a team.

So, though we definitely should cover a team that engrosses most skills, we're really looking for a C# Programmer (or all-around programmer) and a 3D Modeller (that get's a plus if they can also animate the models). Right now; we're all working for free. Everyone that is a part of Paperviper is willingly putting work into their belief of making something great: that's why we've planned to grow a team, make a few good quality games, and release them for free to gain some good fans in the process.

We can't, however, do this without a formed team. We're looking for people that pretty much have at least a acknowledged clue as to what they're doing, and are willing to work with a new team for free, whenever, to create some small but enjoyable games that could forever create the foundation of our group. We want optimistic people, who believe in the indie style and doesn't care what style of game they're working on.

If you're interested, then please check out our Open Positions Page and then go apply by emailing us on our About Us page. We reply to all emails received within about 5 to 6 hours!! Just include your details and we'll definitely want to hear back from you! More details about our ideas, work, progress, and more of who we are will be disclosed to those who apply and willingly exchange emails in complete interests of being a part of Paperviper.

Thanks.
