After thinking about it for a bit, I think that a FEAR style weapon zoom instead of iron sights would be a good alternative, as it wouldn't slow down the pace of the game and obstruct the player's view.

This mod is quite impressive, but I can't shake the feeling that the first release was better. A lot of the changes present in this version are just questionable to me. Why increase health for some enemies, turning them into bullet sponges? Why remove walking? Why make the MP5 hold less bullets, who was asking for that? Also, I'm pretty certain that hip firing accuracy was nerfed for some guns to favor aiming down sights, but frankly I (personally) don't like aiming down sights in half life, it feels counter intuitive. For a fast paced mod, making people stop to aim seems pointless.

While I don't like the inclusion of iron sights, and nerfing accuracy for weapons hip fired because of the inclusion of them, a good middle ground would be to add a "classic" mode to the mod to play the game in its original form, just with the added gore effects. I'm no coder, so I have no idea if this is possible, but imo, it would save this mod in my eyes. Myself, and a couple of friends of mine who love half life, feel the mod is just starting to get silly with the inclusion of dual wielding MP5's and whatnot, and adding ironsights. Regardless, this mod is great, and a terrific piece of coding and half life modding knowledge.

I just finished your mod, and wow, I think it's safe to say that this has topped They Hunger as my favorite Half-Life mod. The attention to detail is simply astounding. I especially like how upon revisiting certain areas small things will be different every time, such as props being moved around to show that the space had been occupied in your absence, or even the environment changing completely.

The maps are expertly created and the way the maps flow is very natural and will always point you towards where to go next. These maps simply make me marvel at what the GoldSrc engine is capable of when in the hands of someone who really knows how to use it.

I'll keep this short, but I just wanted to tell you that this mod is amazing work. I would love to potentially see it on steam if it's at all possible, and if you ever create more mods or venture into other aspects of game development, I'll be eager to see what other great things you create next.

I really like this mod...but it desperately needs an easier way to play custom maps with it. I've only ever gotten it to work once with a custom map, and it was USS Darkstar. I think something must have broken with a steam update or something because now if I try playing a custom map with Brutal Half Life the guns don't have any muzzle flash or sounds. This mod would benefit greatly from easier custom map support, if possible.

Also, I bet people have already said this, but if you kick while holding a weapon the Previous Weapon (Q) binding ceases to function until you manually pick another weapon.
