to run it on windows 8 you need to rightclick the exe and chose 'Troubleshooting Compatibility' otherwise it wont run, also you cant change compatibility settings in properties of the file for so reason

i know they supposed to speak russian but there also are supposed to be english subs which do no work no matter what i chose in options, recon and i talk about recoil when firing from the hip at 1-5 meter range

i guess ill disable infinite enemy ammo (if it works...) since otherwise armored enemies will be unkillable for me

my issues so far: subtitles dont work no matter what i chose in options, ppl around are talking in russian and i dont understand a thing, popups with item description in shops dont fit into the screen for some items, stuttering (especially when saving/autosaving, i have everything maxed but my pc should be able to handle it, i guess its just game engine not optimized for such amount of hires textures etc... gonna experiment with other video settings), bulletproof [human] enemies (seriously how long this guy can run around taking about 10-30 9 mm bullets?) i dont mind difficulty but when i shot someone in the head and hes just wearing a hood i dont expect them to turn around and instakill me (id expect other human being to be as 'immune' to bullets as my character;/), grenades hitting me with splash dmg trough walls, insane recoil (i press fire with scorpion and im instantly aiming at the sky!) do i really need to use ironsight when someone is standing 1 meter next to me? i wanna do a quick burst but its just insane with this recoil, and finally i cant download flashlight hotfix since that site doesnt let me download for some reason

this.. or maybe its just me not playing stalker for a year and forgetting how hard it was?

i bet readme was made earlier and splitting files into two parts was probably last minute call before uploading (as some services limit max size of single files etc...) so it was probably small oversight

FOR ANYONE HAVING PROBLEM WITH MISSING TEXTURES:

if you downloaded 2 part version YOU NEED TO put folder called "TEXTURES" INSIDE OF "DATA\GAMEDATA" folder of first part OTHERWISE IT WONT INSTAL ANY OF TEXTURES

you would think sniper would be more specialized while recon more all around, guess not;P
