You need the 1.05 fix for the upgrades to work. You can find it under images. It most likely requires a new game, it crashed when I wanted to go to Jupiter, so I had to go back to 1.04.

I'm actually quite enjoying not being able to upgrade weapons. Normally I'd just stick with a few guns and gradually upgrade them. Here I can play with a bunch of guns, only paying comparably small amount to buy/repair it. It also helps that the weapons are actually useful without dropping tens of thousands on upgrades :)
I also found a small bug, the G36 from Nimble has a broken description.

Is it just me, or does something feel a little bit off about this SCAR?

You can sell it to him through the "I think you might be interested" dialog option.

Just checked the Raging Bull, W1200, and MP5K. Every version of them I could find. No CTDs. Looks like the repair script likes me. Or doesn't like you :D

I repaired a bunch more stuff. This time I tried guns with more unusual calibers, PTRS, MG3, Honey Badger, AutoMag, M82 etc. I used universal weapon cleaning kits. It all worked fine.

While I was at it I also checked a few more scopes, from the stuff I tested only the PU, PSO and scopes integrated into SVDs and Vykhlop were fine, the rest was stuck to the top of the screen.

And this happened:

[error]Expression : res!=-1
[error]Function : get_rank
[error]File : D:\prog_repository\sources\trunk\xrGame\ui\Restrictions.cpp
[error]Line : 34
[error]Description : cannot find rank for

Is it only the repair kits (boxes) or also other the stuff like dvojka etc. causing the crashes? I repaired a Mosin using a Rusak gun oil and didn't get a crash. Which weapons did you get CTDs with? I'll spawn in some stuff and test it out later.

Also, the USMC pattern ACOG is broken, the scope texture sticks to the top of the screen instead of the bottom.

I did some more testing. I've tried using repair kits on a KRISS Vector, wz.88 Tantal and a Glock 17, none of which are in base Misery, If I remember correctly. No immediate crashes.

I did, great little addon. It always annoyed me when it "switched channels" mid song.

Oh, and about that weapon repair thing. What sort of crashes are we talking about? I tried repairing some stuff, expecting it to murder the game immediately and... nothing happened. Is it going to die later on or something? Cause that 26% HK416 looks awfully tempting... So far I only got crashes while reloading the save a bit too much.

To stop the radiation from artifacts you need either a lead box (cheap but it's heavy, it disables rest of the effects, and you can't place it on your belt) or one of the containers - you have 3 tiers of these, more expensive ones nullify higher levels of radiation.

It's around the car that contains Snags' stash in normal CoP. I.imgur.com

You also need armor/helmet with good psi protection. I tested it with SEVA and a joint, going in there took almost all of my HP. Alternatively you could enable god mode (add -dbg to the shortcut and type g_god 1 into the console) before transitioning into the lab.

It should be just laying on the ground somewhere around the car.

I'd say it's definitely harder than vanilla Stalkers', but not Misery level hard (or annoying). While you still have to maintain your gear frequently, it's a lot easier because you can often find the items needed for that in stashes or on dead enemies. Finding guns that are cheaply repairable isn't too hard either. From what I've seen so far, the artifacts aren't worth their weight, but maybe I just didn't come across any good ones. The enemies aren't ridiculously bulletproof and don't have laser vision, the gunfights are actually quite nice. The mutants for the most part aren't too hard to kill, a dog will just need 1-2 5.56 bullets to drop dead, a boar maybe 2-3 shotgun shells. The only way too beefy thing I found was a chimera, don't go anywhere near those things without a grenade launcher. The only really frustrating thing is the new bag space system (not only you're limited by weight, but also the number of items you can carry), but I got used to it after a while.

I've had this too, I got a job from a guy at the Bar, and when I came back to get my reward, he moved to one of the hangars and didn't want to speak to me. After a while he moved back into the Bar and I could get my reward. Best thing we can do for now is just not take any jobs from non-stationary NPCs.

Good to know about the discounts. I was just curious If the X16 bug still existed in RTTN, but I can kinda see why the game would kill me for trying to get in there while wearing a leather jacket :D Gonna come back later with better stuff.

And yup, installed the patch like you said, the "x_patch_scripts" file is in Stalker RTNN\database\patch. Still can exploit that bug.

EDIT: I've outlined the cat on that screen. It looked just fine normally, and when I used a scope or binocs it would stretch out through obstacles. I'll get a better screenshot in a moment.

EDIT2: I've added 3 new screenshots, it seems that a dead one stretches without the help of a scope.

I'm about 80% sure I've seen that black flesh bug somewhere else, just can't remember which mod...

I am using the patch, unless I installed it wrong. I dropped the database folder into the main game folder. I started a new game after installing it.
Also, found 2 more bugs. The cats are stretching out like crazy when I look at them through a scope or binos, added a screenshot to the gallery - a bad one, but you can sort of see what I'm talking about. And X16 kills you instantly after entering the lab (also, you get stuck in a death-load loop with the autoloading of the last save), even with the calibrated psi helmet. I've had the same issue in CoC, turning on god mode before entering helped, but g_god doesn't seem to work here, I'm guessing you've turned it off? Or was it a different code?

EDIT: Maybe a 3rd bug? I bought the psi helmet from Sakharov, then a M12 helmet for around 32k. I slept for 2 days and after he gave me the calibrated psi, another M12 in his inventory now costs 38k. Air filters also cost around 1/5 more, so it's probably the same for the rest of what he's selling. I started as an Ecologist, I'm guessing something got screwed up with the discounts?

I've played for a few hours, so here's what I think for now.
The mod doesn't seem to be too hard, getting a good weapon (and in a decent condition) is fairly easy, and there is a lot of free stuff lying around, especially in those breakable crates. After getting used to Misery, it's almost too easy :P The firefights are fun, the enemies aren't too bulletspongy, and I didn't yet witness anyone accurately sniping with a rusted out sawn-off, halfway across the map. But they do seem to still have amazing aim with grenades...
I like the PDA messages and the missions. Not a fan of the bag space system tho. Maybe I'll warm up to it later...

Now, performance...
I'm playing on a 4.2GHz i5-4670k, GTX 1070, 16GB of RAM and an SSD, on max settings. The game runs very smoothly, it rarely drops below 100FPS, averaging around 115FPS according to Fraps. I didn't encounter any crashes (yet, it's X-ray afterall...) or game breaking bugs.
I did find a few small ones. When you automatically drop a gun because your bag is full, it'll be at max health and fully loaded after you pick it back up again. But it seems to lose some of the attachments. I accidentally became a happy owner of a brand new SG 550, only for about 10 seconds tho, looting while in the middle of a firefight is a good way to get your head blown off :P Also, the stock of an MP5 gets cut off while aiming down the sights, no matter the FOV. Also2: I found a completely black Flesh. Screenshots: Imgur.com

The performance and the difficulty are very refreshing after playing a lot of Misery. Overall, I like it a lot! Great work on the mod :) I'll try to report any bugs I find, and I'll share more of my thoughts after playing it for a while longer.

Oh, and a Burer threw a bunch of ammo boxes at me, I thanked him by unloading it all in his face :)

Just started playing (ah the joys of crap internet...), other than a little hiccup with the game thinking that I don't own CoP, everything seems to work fine. I'll let you know If I run into any bugs.

I'm guessing that some people are using the patch that removes the need for activating that key. I used it on this system every time I installed CoP, so RTTN thought that I don't own a legit copy of CoP.

Sorry for asking this again, I know you've said that the release is still not planned, but judging by the amount of work that's left, is it more in the ballpark of month, months or rather next year? I'll of course understand if you can't answer that, but I'm craving for some MISERY, and I'd like to know if I should just go play it right now, or hold off until TAZ comes out.

This is a nice Christmas gift :) I see you fixed the problems with AMD cards. It works fine at max settings and DX11 on my R9 280X now. I only tried running around the rookie village tho - I'm waiting for the weapons addon before playing more (ETA on that?).
Don't forget to update the GPU drivers If the game is still crashing on you when using DX10/11 - I couldn't go past medium settings until I did that.

1. Install 1.3000
2. Install 1.4002 Big Patch
3. Play the game

It's all on the download page, in the descriptions of the patches.

Did you put the ammo in one of the slots at the top of the eq?
