Ok, I figured that vest would be too hot for Africa. It would have been nice for other fronts. Thanks for taking care of all the details, even for "minor" factions.

Finally a proper Italian helmet in COH (even if only the airborne version).
The dream would be to have also the unique "Samurai" vest for the MAB 38 magazines (https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/52/91/79/5291794a209babf7621fe6bc819e6a49.jpg) used by the Italian Airborne troops.
I know there are other priorities but a gamer can dream...

As a matter of fact Cosa Nostra helped the Allies in the invasion of Sicily.

A couple of things that can help realism : they used the M1A1 carbine with folding stock and the M1936 Musette Bag as backpack.

The same book I cited in the reply above also features photos of the M1941 used by soldiers of the Brigade in 1944 (arwork here Photo.qip.ru). You can also see it in the hands of the third guy from the left in this photo En.wikipedia.org taken at Anzio. It was one of the trademark weapons of the unit along with the V-42 combat knife.

According to this book Ospreypublishing.com the 1st Special Service Force wore the "mountain trousers" (it calls them their) which are basically heavy hbt pants with two large cargo pockets (which are visible in the picture). I suggested the paratrooper legs because of their baggy appereance (mountain trousers were baggy too) and for the Corcoran boots the Devils also used.
Furthermore the 1st Special Service Force was issued the M1943 field coat just before leaving for Italy and were the first unit to wore it.

To distingush them even further from the riflemen you can give them the M1941 Johnson LMG instead of the M1918 BAR (you can find it here Forum.medpackstudios.com) and use a modelmix with the paratrooper legs and boots(as they were also trained as airborne troops, reference image Actionsoldier.it)

Hi SnowBlaZeR2,

I'm paoloviane and post from Italy.
I'm working on a skinpack for COH:MC and following the discussion on the mod's page I read your posts about the Marines wearing flag patches. Since the photo links you provided show mostly MARSOC and other SOC Marine units (judging by their equipment) can I ask you, since you get your information first hand, if "normal" (i.e. not MARSOC or Force Recon) Marines indeed wear flag patches? I search both Marines.mil and the huge photo forum Militaryphotos.net and I found none (they only wear flight patches or the small IR rank tab on the shoulder).
Second and last question, why did you rename the airborne to 1st SFOD-D? IMO the 101st Airborne division still fits well since it is a Air Assault division. I just want to know what do you think about it.

Feel free to answer on my profile page

Note: I did a skinpack before the last patch and showed my skins on the mod forums (which are down). My old skins are here: Mediafire.com.

The M110 is loosely based on the AR10, the 7.62x51 mm version of the AR15.

If you look at the shoulder patch they are US Navy SEAL team six or DEVGRU. I believe they use the new US Navy AOR2 digital woodland camouflage instead of the old Woodland. Can anyone confirm they still use woodland?

Probably the one with the bipod is the new M27 IAR used by the Marine Corps as squad automatic weapon.

That is a M110 Semi-Automatic Sniper System, used by the USMC as a complement to the M40A5 and replacement to the Mk11/SR25 and M39 Designated marksman rifles.

I don't know if this has been suggested before but have you ever considered to include Italian soldiers in the mod?

The Italian Army sent the 2nd Army Corps in France in 1918 to support his allies. The Italian force was composed of two divisions with 25000 troops including Arditi assault troops, cavalry and artillery units. The Italians fought bravely at the Second Battle of the Marne and left 5000 men on the battlefield and now most of them are buried in the Bligny Italian War Cemetery near Reims.

I think the Italian soldiers can be made with a simple reskin of the soldier models you already have (for example they used a licensed version of the French Adrian helmet) until a proper model can be made (very far into the future, of course, I think a good reskin will do) and using the wonderful carcano 91 model jorge2125 released on relic forums (it doesn't have a bayonet though).
I think Italians could be a good reward unit for the future French faction like the Portugese for the British one.

I can do the reskin if you want, and I have further suggestions about the Italians.
