I'm glad that you decided to make an online-compatible version of the mod. I've been following this mod and liked what was being shown (I actually had ideas for something similar, but I felt that your take was better than the stuff that I was able to put together), but my biggest gripe with it was that I wanted something that wouldn't sacrifice online compatibility and here it is. Thanks! :)

I recently had some time to play through this mod. I have to say that to me your content is always a mix of interesting concepts, great visuals and the polish that many other mods often lack, and this is no exception.

I really liked the models used here, as well as the class setup and the gameplay changes (like how the Imperial Jump Trooper plays quite a bit like Boba Fett with that Jetpack and EE-3). I found it cool how you decided to to take loose inspiration from various media instead of choosing the established ideas from EA's Battlefronts.

Now, I know that it was probably meant to be a little fun mod, but in case you'd be updating it someday, I will just mention a couple of suggestions in case of any future release. First of all, I noticed that winning as the Empire is harder here. Also, I think that the E-11 is a little bit ineffective. It's more precise, but slower and deals less damage. Also, the Naboo Pilot class seems to be missing his 1st person view model. Also, I don't know if the lack of 5th class for Naboo Guards was an effect of a creative decision, but if the reason behind it was lack of an idea for that class, I think one of the solutions might be adding a Gungan Warrior class, something in vein of the Wookie Warrior, but that's just a small idea I had.

Anyways, I really like this mod and I hope that it is a sign of the things to come in the 'Anniversary Edition' Mod. :)

Mr.Slavko - - 353 comments @ Clone Wars Era Mod - Episode III Update

Lately I had some time to play this mod, and I enjoyed it a lot. One thing that stands out with this mod for me is the attention to detail.

First of all, I haven't played the previous version (only saw videos and screenshots of it), but I can tell that visually this version has been improved A TON. The new models are great, but you also did an amazing job with the textures - even the stock models feel comparable to the higher-res models, thanks to your texturing job. Visually it's amazing and it's easy to see a lot of care being put in the visual side of the mod. Plus, all the new animations give the mod some extra charm.

I also liked how well the use of classes was thought out. Each class feels like it has some specific purpose behind it and I liked that while some of the classes get occasional map-specific replacements (like Wookie Warriors on Kashyyyk), those map-exclussive units still suit the purpose that was intended for the class that was replaced.

A big thing for me were the heroes. Initially, I wasn't a fan of 'demi-hero' units, but they came out really well. But what I really have to stress out is that this is one of the best depictions of heroes in SWBF2 mods. Each new hero, aside from looking great, has their own unique abilities and (in the case of Jedi/Sith) their unique animations. Honestly, in the stock SWBF2 and many of the mods that I have played, most of the Jedi heroes felt like a reskin of the same character that played pretty much the same. The new Force powers were really creative and it feels like each hero brings something new to the table. I was really excited to explore each hero and see how they play.

Overall, great job and I'll be waiting for some future update. :)

Thanks for the kind words :) As for your request, unfortunately changing the weapons in any other way than replacing models would break online compatibility and my current intention is to make online-compatible mods.

To be completely honest, in the future I'd like to make a mod that would make each class more interesting, but if I ever do that, it probably won't be too soon as currently I have very little time for modding (real life has been getting in the way for a while)

Well, I don't remember writing anywhere that these are Triton Squad Stormtroopers :P
The mod uses standard Stormtrooper models converted from Wii/PS2 version of TFU, and that's just it

Yes, after I made the Stormtrooper texture used in this mod, I recoloured it and edited it to replicate the details of the Dark Trooper texture - this is a brand new texture.

Oh boy, just yesterday I've been replaying your maps and thinking about when we'd get a new map from you (I was particularly thinking about this and your Nebulon Cruiser map) and here we go - 2 new releases in one day! Awesome :D

Edit: Unfortunately, both this and the Asteroid Facility map crash on me (I even reinstalled the stock sides, but it still did not help :/)

Edit 2: I noticed that the older version of the Asteroid Facility map works for me. It's a wild guess but I thought that maybe the crashes might be related to the fact that I have Auri0n's sound fixes mod installed.

I have to praise you for this mod. It might seem pretty simple, but it refreshed the game for me. Currently I'm playing with KMQuake2, and with this mod + some of the graphic tweaks from KMQ2, it feels like a simple remaster of the classic game, without changing the atmosphere. Thanks for this! :)

That's another simple but fun map. The added props make it more interesting and the vehicle and hero selection is really nice. Also, I like how you improved Col Serra. He looks better and feels more polished gameplay wise.

As for any suggestions, I think that adding 1 flag CTF mode would make the experience richer, plus the height of C-21 Highsinger's and Cydon Prax's jump felt a little bit off. Besides, I thought that this map was an opportunity to make a couple of nods to Rogue Squadron III by putting the prop of Obi-Wan's Delta 7 Starfighter somewhere and adding Wedge as the hero for the Rebellion (but I wouldn't call this an issue). Still, this is a really neat conversion. Great job!

Mr.Slavko - - 353 comments @ Tatooine Space to Ground Map

The concept of the map is pretty ambitious. It is actually close to the stock Mos Eisley map, as you intended it to be, but has more content. Personally I am not much of a fan of adding heroes as playable classes, but I can see why you decided to go with that idea. The transition from space to ground is a little rough, but the fact that you implemented it is already great. I've noticed one bug - the starfighters have no sounds. Also, I'd suggest putting a Gonk Droid (or two) inside of the cruisers. Otherwise, it's a pretty clean and nicely done map.

Overall, the map is really good. I recommend trying it out, as it's always fun to be able to fight both on the ground and in space. :)

Mr.Slavko - - 353 comments @ Death Star (Elite Squadron conversion)

Initally, I overlooked this map. However, after playing Giftheck's SWBF1 conversion, I started to appreciate it more. Here's how I feel about it now.

The map is pretty small, but the tiny size made it a bit... cozy, so to say. I appreciate the layout of the map. The CPs are connected to each other in an organic way, which makes the gameplay interesting, and this CP setup gives me sort of a hub vibe. It might be weird of me to say, but I think I like this map better than the SWBF2 Death Star map.

If I were to make any complaints or requests, I'd like to ask you to consider adding 1-flag CTF mode to the map. Yes, I know the map is really simplistic, but an additional gamemode would be a welcome addition.

There are a couple of bugs, but they aren't serious at all (a part of the floor near the cell block has some problems with shading and the collision of table in the conference room is a little bit wonky).

Overall, I really like this map. It is very small and looks pretty similar to the SWBF2 Death Star map, but it has its unique vibe, plus it is one of the key locations of the Original Trilogy. The gameplay is solid and the file size is only 7 mb, so it definitely wouldn't hurt to try it out. :)

Mr.Slavko - - 353 comments @ Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron Map Packs 1 and 2

Okay, so while waiting for mappack 2, I redownloaded mappack 1 and gave it another shot, but this time with a different approach.

Back when these maps were intially released separately, I treated them as extensions of the official game (with your Sound Adjustment Mod installed). When I redownloaded mappack 1, I decided to think of it as something of a LITE version of SWBF3 (pretty much what Elite Squadron was), adjusted to work within the constraints of SWBF1. I think that this approach was much better and made me appreciate these maps much more.

As for my current opinion on Pack #1, I really liked it. The maps themselves were still really good, and the new heroes added a lot of charm. The only issues I had were: 1) the size of Rebels' DH-17 blasters - I felt that they were really huge (their length is comparable to Rebels' torsos, which feels a little bit odd).
2) I noticed a small bug - the white part of Yoda's lightsaber was black for some reason.

Pack #2 is the new stuff, and oh boy, was it worth the wait. These maps are really amazing, and I think I like those iterations of Mustafar and Death Star much better than the ones from SWBF2. Really cool stuff. The Coruscant map is awesome and I hope that it will also get a SWBF2 conversion. When it comes to Vjun, it was among my favourite conversions by Teancum, so it was great to see it here. All in all, great choice of maps.

One thing which I started to appreciate more are the sides. I really like the new models and changes to the classes. Heavy troopers are really fun to play as now, and I love how CIS have both a standard B1 Battle Droid rifleman and a B2 Super Battle Droid. Otherwise, the sides seem pretty similar to your Unoffcial Patch sides, but a part of me wishes that we could get a side mod which would blend in with the sides included here (both in terms of aesthetics and gameplay).

Overall, great job. I'll be waiting for Pack #3, but the amount of content included here is already impressive and it enriches the good old SWBF1 nicely.

Really cool addon! The new hero animations look really good and I can confirm that the mod works without the 1.3 patch (I installed it directly onto unpatched Steam release and it worked). Since we now have CW Era on Endor and Hoth, are there any plans for GCW Era on Geonosis?

Looks really promising! I love the Jumptrooper model from this render and the texture job on Shocktrooper, the Specialist and Shadow Trooper is awesome. One thing that comes to my mind though would be maybe reducing the shinyness of the Stormtrooper model. Their textures suggest that their armour is pretty rusty and battle damaged, but in the video they have this very strong glow. One other thing that I thought about is that maybe you could consider recolouring that Tantive IV Rebel model so that his colour scheme would bo closer other Rebel units with that mix of tan and dark green.

Overall, great stuff. I have a soft spot for GCW mods, especially when they give Rebbies some love, too. Keep going!

Mr.Slavko - - 353 comments @ Star Wars: Battlefront - Unofficial Update 1.4

I have just recently found out about this project and today I played it for my first time. Here's a quick summary of how I felt about it:

1) VISUALS: I loved the visual update to the sides. As a fan of SWBF2015, I really liked how you brought some of its charm to the classic Battlefront. I loved the addition of the Bespin Rebel skins (and I kind of wish that this design fully replaced the urban Rebel design, even on maps such as Naboo: Theed) and the Tatooine skins (also, I think it would be cool if the Rebel Marksman could get a jungle skin). The new models and those small updates to some of the models (like the Imperial Pistol, Scout Trooper or the TIE Pilot) were satisfying. I also just love how the Phase 1 Clone Trooper looks with the updated model and your DC-15. I had conflicting feelings regarding the Phase 2 Clones, as it felt kind of iconic to SWBF1 that they only used Phase 1 models.

2) SOUND: The sound update was really good. The blaster sounds were amazing, and made the weapons feel much more powerful.

3) GAMPELAY CHANGES: The changes to the maps were really nice and improved their atmoshpere. I appreciated some of the class related changes, for instance, nerfing the Droideka. I'll be honest - the fact that Droideka is so overpowered in SWBF1 was one of those things I liked better in the sequel and you fixed that.

I appreciate all the work that you put into this. I like how you added so many cool things to the game, but still kept things simple so that the changes wouldn't be too intrusive. I have to ask this question though: is there a chance for an online-compatible version of the mod, that would just change the visuals and the sound? The link to your Sound Adjustment mod is dead, and this definitely feels like an improvement over that patch.
