Hi!
The mod doesn't change the AI of the humans directly. HOWEVER, they could very well be reacting to the Alien who is acting differently than in vanilla!
Hope you're having fun on your playthrough!

Hello!
The mod is supposed to fix these kind of issues, are you sure the mod was installed?
I will investigate the issue on my side, thanks for reporting!

Hello,
Sorry, just saw your message. Have you tried to uninstall then reinstall the mod? Instructions are provided in the .txt file. Also, what version of the game do you have?
Hope you can fix your issue.

Thank you for your feedback! I really appreciate it and I'm glad you're having fun with the mod.

The Amanda screaming issue is a glitch coming from the game, as far as I know, it could be because of wrongly placed trigger boxes (like in this example Youtu.be).

As for the Alien running to get you then stopping, I think I know what's going on. When the Alien is in "intense" mode, I configured it to be able to calm down in only 3 seconds. Maybe if it takes longer to get to you then it causes that effect? In any case, I'll investigate and do my best to fix it in an upcoming version.

Thank you for reporting this, have a nice day!

Hello,

Have you tried duplicating and renaming "ANDROID_HEAVY.BML" to "ANDROID.BML"?
I'm not sure but this might work.
Also, there are other mods out there that aim to make both types of Androids peaceful if that doesn't work.

Hello!
The easiest for you to lower the difficulty would be to do it via the in-game option.
There is no official download for v0.5 but I can send you a link to do so if you're interested

Hello!
The mod should work correctly on nightmare difficulty, a lot of testing was made using this difficulty (as it is my personal favorite). I can also assure you that the Alien searches in a bigger radius and gives up on its search much faster :)

The balancing of the mod maybe doesn't suit you? It changes things but it is still close to vanilla.
However, the issues that are affecting you are exactly the one that the mod aims to fix. Do you notice a difference at all with the mod installed compared to vanilla?

Maybe the aggressiveness of the Alien (which was increased in the last update), should be taken down a notch?

Please tell me what you think, have a nice day

Hello!
The Alien should show up with this mod :) Maybe you are in a section of the game where the Alien is not present? The backup files should work too, if you have any trouble with the installation, please contact me. You can find all instructions in "Info.txt".

In case you really cannot back up your files with the provided backup, you can use the "Verify integrity of game files" option of Steam, "Verify" option of the Epic Games Store or "Reset" option of Microsoft Store to reset your game files to their default state (note that it will erase all mods).

I hope you can solve your issue soon.

Thank you for playing the game with the mod and thank you for your comments! It helps a lot!!

For your death in the vent, it probably happened because the Alien is now more eager to check the vent so coupled with the noise you made, no chance it would have let you off the hook :)

The glitches you had in Gemini and with the flamethrower are --probably-- not related to the mod (I will investigate these issues to be sure though). Could you describe the problematic behavior of the Alien when scorched in tight spaces?

Concerning the shyness of the Alien, it should be fixed in the next version which should come out this week.

Finally, the amount of time the Alien spends on the ground before going away is going to be *slightly* increased in the next version so it feels a bit less logical and a bit more irrationally threatening, increasing the unpredictability and anxiety at the cost of plausibility.

Hope you will like the evolution of the mod, I wish you the best, and thank you again for your feedback.

Hello TrueAquamarine!

I'll answer your question immediately: no, this mod does not fix the Alien behaviour when inside the vents. Even if I wanted to change it, I would not know how to do it as the exact behaviour of the Alien is controlled by the behaviour tree which is far more complex than what I work on.

Maybe someday for an upgraded version of the mod! Right now, I'm focusing on balancing and smoothing the experience as it is!

Have a nice day and I hope you will find a way to play the game as you intend to!

Hello, thank you for your feedback, I really appreciate it!
Your observations match mines: the Alien is not coming to get you enough, I'm working on that part for the next version.
It should be much more aggressive in the upcoming version of the mod but there are still issues I need to address before I can release it.

Please stay tune!

Hello!

Not really but you could verify changes in its behavior if you already know how it naturally acts. For example, if you have bought the Trauma DLC, you could play "Reoperation", get to the big central room, startle the Alien then hide in a locker. If the Alien leaves after searching for you for a few seconds or minutes, the mod is probably installed and working! If it stays searching for you for more than a few minutes, the mod may not be installed. You can also do that experiment in the hangar in the DLC "Last Survivor".

Other than that, if you followed the instructions in the Info.txt, the mod should be active right away!

I've designed it to be not too far off from vanilla so I can recommend it for a first playthrough!

Hello,
Thank you for giving this mod a try!

The Alien does inspect lockers when you're not in them, it's just really rare (think I saw it happen twice). I would like to fix this aspect of its behavior as well but unfortunately, it's handled by the behavior tree and not the AI Director which this mod alters. Maybe in the future!

What you call the super aggressive Alien at random intervals should be fixed in this mod :)

Finally, as for the Alien, this behavior of the facehuggers is handled by their behavior tree which I do not mod right now.

Have fun!

Hello!
This mod already changes the Alien behavior so the Alien goes much more often in the wall vents!

Hello!
It is compatible with "Life Savers", just checked the description and it does not affect the same files as this mod. "Life Savers" mods the Alien character behavior whereas this mod changes the Alien AI Director behavior so it should work fine!

Thank you so much for your feedback! I really appreciate it and it will help to improve the mod.

I answered Penumbra's comment on the main page as mentioned so you might want to check it out! To summarize: the Alien not going enough in the player vents is going to be fixed, the behavior of the Alien towards the lockers will not be altered, and a lot of tweaking is going to be made (primarily to make the Alien a little less aggressive while increasing the tension when you don't know what it's going to do next).

I hope you'll give the update a try when it releases! Thank you again!

Really glad to know you liked the mod! Thank you so much for your feedback.

I'm working on v0.5 of the mod which fixes the vent issue along with a lot of tweaking.
As for the lockers, I will not change this behavior (for now at least), because, when increasing the difficulty, the Alien inspects the lockers a bit too much so I was even planning to make it less attracted to them! With the new adjustements that should come out soon (it just needs a lot of testing), the Alien should be more balanced.

Hope you'll try out the new version when it comes out! Thank you again!

Hello!
I've answered your question below

Good karma+1 vote
Mr_Koroshiya
Mr_Koroshiya - - 28 comments @ Improved Alien mod

Hello!
What Unpredictable Alien does is remove the leash between you and the Alien. Basically, all the random values are increased drastically. Although it effectively makes the Alien unpredictable, it can mess up the experience because of how random it is (you can have the Alien very aggressive or absent for the whole game).

The approach here is different. Two major things are made to achieve a more natural Alien behavior:

-the Alien more frequently does things he would normally rarely do (so what it's going to do next is less predictable)

-the Alien relies more on its senses (so if it thinks the player is there, it will become aggressive quicker but if it thinks the player left, it will calm down and search somewhere else).

Here is an (unexhaustive) list of the important changes did to the Alien:
-The Alien is more attracted by player-accessible vents
-The Alien naturally searches in a bigger radius around the player
-The Alien, when thinking a prey is there, will abandon its intuition much quicker if nothing confirms it
-The Alien will search the player actively (out of the vents) a bit more often

I hope you will try out the mod and have fun!

Hello! Glad you like it.
I am currently focusing on making other mods for Alien: Isolation but I might think of it later!

In the meantime, a Playstation UI mod exists which changes the buttons too (though with a differently stylized approach), you might want to take a look there!
