Doesn't matter. Not updating their official site to let their fans know whats going on is horrible PR. They even set up a twitter account that feeds news straight to the main site that never gets used. It's twitter, which literally takes 2 minutes to type something and post it.
You don't announce to the world something great then run and hide then expect free reign to tell people that they can't criticize you just because you aren't charging money for what you're doing.
How to make a mod, the BMS way:
1.) Announce mod, gather fans, build hype
2.) Begin work on mod, frequently update new website with content, build hype
3.) Slowly start to barely trickle content to fans, dwindle hype
4.) Wait 5 years, do not make new content, do not update fans & make sure hype dwindles down to nothing.
5.) Abandon mod but do not reveal any news to your fans, what's left of them
6.) ???
7.) Profit
With the forums down the team might actually work on the mod

It can't hurt to take 5 minutes and update your fans via twitter... which is fed straight to your home page under UPDATES. Take 20 years if you want, but at least throw people a bone.

If there's nothing on the main site and nothing here then there's no update. Normal people won't go out of their way to scrounge for news.

The Source engine looks dated, that's my opinion, you don't have to agree.
They should have not even announced the mod if it was going to take 6 years. The source engine has not aged well, so by the time this mod finally does see a release it's going to be like driving a model-T on the autobahn.
The mod being free does not excuse anything. That is a poor argument. If they didn't want people to get antsy about playing this mod then they shouldn't be showing so much off & updating their community so little.
No wonder the community is so bitter! I don't blame them.
See you in another 6 years, when the mod is still "in development"
This mod is great fun. Very simple concept that goes a long way. Great job making it this far.
I think though that there is a ton of room for different gameplay modes & settings. Does it always have to be shrubs vs. gardeners, for example?
It also seems the most fun to play as a shrub. Most game I've played the teams are uneven in favor of them.
Also when the shrubs spawn, they drop about a foot off of the ground, which is very easy to spot if you are playing the survivor. It gets annoying playing as a shrub and getting spawn killed repeatedly.

I can understand & relate to this viewpoint, but I'm not even talking about a media update, I'm talking about taking 5 minutes and and typing something like, " We're still at it!"
..yes, as a fan of this project, that would be all I need. Media is an added bonus!
Building a fan base & leaving it by the wayside is a mistake that happens in any medium, in any field of work. Again, speaking as a fan I just don't want this to happen to the people behind this mod. I support them 0 & am just offering my feedback, whether they want it or they don't.
Until we get any update I have assumed that this mod is dead just to keep me from anticipating it.
...or I will just assume the mod is dead, or the developers aren't at all interested in their own community.
I have to say that after playing the demo, this mod is very polished and extremely fun. Other mod developers should learn from this instead of making the same ugly counter-strike & zombie panic clones over & over again.
The only gripe I have is that the steering is extremely sluggish. Fix this and you guys will be set.
No doubt some of you guys will end up working at Valve.
I don't own Crysis, the demo will only run on medium settings for me, but I plan on buying it once this mod is release. By that time my PC should be able to run it and it will be a bit cheaper as well.
