We worked on our project (From Darkness) with the Cryengine for exactly the same reason and Crytek managed to make it a disaster. There was so little support by the company, it was an utter disaster. The forum is thinning out since years, the admins were arrogant and there was a few real game breakers, such as facial animations and importing stuff. We were royally frustrated after Crytek just couldn't bother fixing the login system last summer for ...4 weeks!?
Again, you are right, level design and the looks are amazing, but prepare for a lonely, harsh and frustrating survival experience in the crydesert.
It's a pity that the Cryengine is so limited to AAA style windows game. That might be a neck breaker for them in the long run. I also heard, that it comes with an wwise audio tool that actually requires an extra license, once a certain amount of sample is used. That is also a real shame.
Interesting! Let's see, if the Cryengine can keep up with Unity and Epic, who both already developed a massive community.
Thank you! We do love slaying zombies too, but maybe it's time for the medium to move on to more meaningful shores.
Stay tuned for more. There is another project coming up. Somehow similar topic, but single player and using the cryengine.
Yes, but the team working on it is, on some longterm working trip, so there is no active upkeeping. So email bounces back and servers are down?
Check out the new Ceuta map, it's quite pittoresque with the fence and the sunset.
don't forget that this was made with the source engine. i think the limit of what is possible there were pretty much pushed and aren't anything close to what new cryengine stuff looks like.
Interesting shot, especially in the light of the current Mali crisis.
hell yeah! or watch the much shorter edit with all the important parts: Youtube.com
THANK YOU FOR SHOUTING.
are you aware that it's possible to make a game about social and political problems in order to inform people? i actually think you havent entertained that option in your mind. so please do some research, it's called "serious games". also, please watch the documentary videos showing the research and investigation journeys that were made to european borders in order to make this game.
happy xmas to you.
the problem is not that people shouldn't shoot illegal immigrants in a FPS. the problem is, that the european union and their new border pitbull frontex are sending elite military units to intercept refugees and those clashes end sometimes deadly. also, the eu commissioned the services of ukrainian military militia or the moroccan army to do the real dirty work.
Noborder.org
this is actually not about humour or irony. the situation along the european border is dangerous and deadly for immigrants. every year thousands perish in incidents and accidents.
that is correct. to a certain extent.
make sure you use this ip, when adding the server:
