Not EXACTLY true. The Western Front was a major front of the war, yes, but it was by no means where the war was decided. The Eastern Fronts (there were several) were at least as important and massive.
The war wasn't really decided in any one place, and the Western Front was certainly one of the more important fronts, but the idea that it was THE front of World War II is mostly a misconception that comes from movies. After all, two of the three main Central Powers (Austria-Hungary and the Ottoman Empire) didn't even fight on the Western Front. They were entirely fought and defeated on other fronts of the war.
