I personally always liked Azog, but understand that this is your mod and probably will end up liking bolg and the other new guy anyway. I’ve always just kinda liked the hobbit cause they’re fun and I guess I take the issue of book vs movie less seriously, but as it’s a big deal to other people I don’t really mind the change. I wouldn’t mind a small submod or patch made by the community to include Azog just for fun sometime, though.

Hey Edain team,

I'm running into an issue with my game seemingly having a memory spike whenever I approach mid-game situations with a lot of units and buildings on field. The thing is, though, is that I have a pretty good PC in terms of specs, and I'm running the game at medium graphics. I haven't ran into this particular problem on my older PC's, so I am confused as to why it would occur now that I have a more bulky rig. Usually an indication that a crash is approaching is some stuttering in-game. If I try to load a save at that point in the game it usually crashes after around half a minute.

Any advice?
Thanks, and keep up the great work!

hey there edain team,

I was wondering about a couple unique buildings and units I encountered in the recently released campaign. during the second fight at fornost in the epilogue, you have to destroy a gate which releases several strange demons. There is also a "sacrifice altar" which had several options i couldnt view due to my not being on the enemy team, but i could see they existed when i selected it like any other building. And also, there were several "ore mines". I haven't encountered any of these buildings before ingame, and I was very curious about them. any idea what they could be?

Dear Edain team,

First off, great mod. I've watched some replays but haven't had the chance to play until I got my new computer(I hate windows 10).

I have three concepts and a question.

First concept would be that of including the influence of Dwarven Trade. I think that their part in the economy of the whole of Middle-Earth is not a small thing, and that it should be included in the mod. Evidence of this would be Khazad-dum's role as a hub for really most any precious metal, gem, or the value of the Dwarves' craftsmanship overall(they were the pioneers of chain mail technology in LOTR). I'd think maybe a way to incorporate this would be something similar to the Travel Camp- a "trading caravan" that could leave the map from an expansion point building that, upon return, could give buffs or resources based on what race of middle earth you chose to trade with(the race chosen could be palantir options that are picked prior to leaving the field). For example, one could leave choose, say the Elves, and upon the caravans return it could bring Noldor weapons(The Noldor moved near the Dwarves in the First Age because the Dwarves were so rich). The weapons could provide buffs for speed or damage, just as one idea. They could bring any other number of things, and the variety could increase based on level of building, etc.

Another concept would be the inclusion of race-based corruption as an ability for Mordor. Sauron handed out rings of power to the individual races with the intent of weakening them, and they did different things based on race. This could be given an inclusion in Edain when Ring Hero Sauron comes into play. I think one thing he could have is an ability to debuff units, heroes and buildings of any good faction(and even Evil, considering Angmar is comprised of corruptable creatures like any other faction). An example would be say you could corrupt a barracks of Gondor so that when it produced units, the units upon death could be turned into wraiths for ten seconds, just as one idea. Maybe you could Corrupt a hero so that enemy units were debuffed around it, with the debuff varying based on what race the hero was. Corruption in the LOTR series was a very big deal to Tolkien, so I think Sauron having a primary corruption ability is important. It would be hard to balance, but I think overall it would be an excellent addition.

My final concept to present is more inclusion of Lindon. I think Lindon was a huge deal in the books and lore of LOTR but didn't really see the light of day in the movies overall. Of the three Elf-Realms in Western Middle Earth, Lindon is the only one to not be represented heavily in Edain. Both Lothlorien and Rivendell are given their own individual factions, with Mirkwood being given a subfaction role accessible by outpost. However, Lindon is only given light in Arnor's outpost as the Lindon Tower, which while useful isn't as prominent as it should be in my opinion. Mirkwood is basically it's own playstyle, with different forms of units available to you to use as either support or the backbone of your army(in pairs with the Beorns, Mirkwood is actually a pretty good strat in my opinion). But Lindon only gives Cirdan, who in 4.5 is primarily a siege support hero, and the Elite Lindon unit, which is useful, but again not as prominent as I'd personally like. The problem of Lindon that I see is that it's emphasis lies in Navy, which is hard to incorporate in Edain I'm guessing. Your revamps of Navy are nice, but the half baked feel you're left to deal with by the original EA creators of BFME is something I'd guess isn't very easy to work with. The importance of Lindon, however, is something I'd hate to see snubbed, and I would ask that maybe it be given a larger role in future updates.

Question: is there a place where I could download the Earendil's fun mission? I adored slaughtering thousands with the Overlord.

Thanks, and sorry for the essay of a post I just gave,
Wooly
