Suddenly my mouse does not work at all, in-game. Same with controller.
Fine in menu, but not in-game.

Would reinstall the game as it is normally suggested, but as it already comes as an unpacked version - it is not possible.

Really nice work. Would Save/Load location (teleportation) be possible? Some trainers had it, but not anything that is compatible with newest version of 1.04..

Using TexMod, you can change Archers goggle color, but not Kestrels for some reason.

Awesome job including the inspect and holster to in-game options.

You have probably already thought about this, but wanted to know if you can also make another key to set your weapon in hand in a manner that you have it in cease-fire zones? And switch back to previous position when pressed again?

A comment on Redux Dawn Remake page led me here. Happy to see this.

I will give this a go soon when I have time to play.
Before I do, I am curious whether you would like to implement the following features, to add extra challenge for us realism-lovers:

1)Ability to sleep at safehouses without life bar getting a refill. (You could still get health from items)

2)Holster/Unholster weapon and check time outside of safe house. (As it is in New Dunia mod)

At first, stealth looked good. That was until I started experimenting.

1)Sometimes I am just crouch-walking in short grass (not bladed weeds which are more effective by default) right in front of them and they do not see me.
2)The sniper on platform near the greenhouses did not notice me at all when crouching, even when on terrain where there is no foliage. Gave him plenty of opportunities. Then noticed me immediately when I stood up, so that's good.
3)When trying to avoid a vehicle patrol, you can just stand straight in a bush and have them almost run you over. (Tested with the patrol near eastern bus stop, in daylight.)

Also I noticed that they do not return fire from long distance. They just walk closer to me like they do when coming to investigate, start shooting only at certain range. Made the combat way too easy on open areas.

I have no idea how to change stealth values and even if you should. Just letting you know of my experiences so far. Game is too easy in my opinion.

I don't agree with this either, but at least try to be respectful. Some people just prefer not to have others use their work under their own name. Maybe you would understand when you have been in a similar situation.

I know you made them before Merge, I have seen them. Just throwing out the idea of crediting usernames by features, all in one article.

So even when your input would be credited correctly, you would still have a problem with it existing?

EDIT:Anyone ever thought about posting and editing an article or something similar where to keep track of which username was the first to implement which feature? I personally don't understand why the debates are necessary, its just a game.. But maybe letting everyone know who made what breakthrough, we can all enjoy the different versions that match our interests/playstyles, without rightful creators not being acknowledged. Just an idea..

So how long will the mod be password protected?
What do you intend?

I don't know about the current state of your mod, just saying what ruined it for me when I first tried it. For me, not for other people.

Will give yours another try later. I don't currently take time to play anything, just keeping eye on what is happening with FC2 modding. Some badass updates here, especially by you.

Also..
I think the Merge author even said that it concentrates on stealth, realism, and stability. I might be semi-wrong here.
To me, that sounds like this mod will be in good hands.

Nice win, the watch one. Will give yours another go in the future for sure.

Its one thing to create mods combining a set of features, but its another thing to give people what they want to see. Marc does a great job with it currently. I would certainly try out your mod once it is fixed and without unnecessary changes that ruin immersion. And once it is not password protected. You keep on coming with new features and its interesting to keep track of. Just consider creating alternative versions and there may not be a need for other people to "steal" your mod.

I haven't rated your mod if that's what you mean, and won't any time soon. It would not be fair as it is constantly in development. And also just because I like realism, does not mean I have to down-vote mods that stand against it. Different people want different experiences.

All the best! Don't let the haters get you down.

EDIT: Also will the first headshot to a living enemy cause a bullethole, or will they start appearing after they are killed and you shoot them?

Yeah, and I just commented on how I thought you were not interested in taking the mod on a realism path.

Now after seeing this, I just might be wrong.

Im following all of your works, not just the merge one. Modders are breaking the limitations. Sometimes I wonder what the game developers think of you guys.

I tried out your mod before I found this merge. For me, the jump height, no fall damage were already enough to put me off. Then came the combat..

Far Cry as a series I agree is not much about realism, but many franchises have their black sheep. FC2 is a goldmine for a certain audience who are put off by little things that ruin immersion (believe me, I generally hate video games). Every time I jumped, or encountered an immortal NPC, I was pulled out of the world. I loved the incendiary round shotgun and semi-automatic makarov, but overall - this merge currently has more to offer.

Im sure you have the tools to make your mod realistic, but it seems that you are not interested. And its fine. To each their own.

Shooting someone in the leg has never felt so satisfying. The animation came out of nowhere and did not expect anything like it to be added. Still don't know if this was your addition or not.

I hope you both find justice :)

Remaining undetected in jungle at night felt harder than before but I might just be imagining things.

Well we better keep the patch files with us in case this mod will get taken down then. Danny, you have made Far Cry 2 better for many people, but this combination of several mods is the best one up to date for people who want realism in their game. Sure, You sure deserve a lot of credit, but it is just a game. Please don't ruin it for us just to get revenge on someone. There aren't many games around that can be called realistic. Community would benefit more if people were cooperating respectfully, but of course I do not know the whole history of you 2, so it's all I'm going to say.

Hope it works out. Nothing wrong with asking credit for your work.

So sometimes when I shoot people they start stumbling and it takes time for them to get up.
How was this even possible? Which one of you is responsible for that? Just when you think game can't be more closer to perfection..

Played for about an hour and only bug I encountered was some frozen enemy. When I approached him with machete while holding RMB (just when the hand position changed), he crouched a little but remained frozen. I threw a C4 into his face and blew him sky high. I like this bug, it kind of simulated the surrender of enemy. Please don't fix. Would make a nice feature if one can knowingly trigger it.

Installation (selecting through the folders) was a breeze to go through.

Now that stealth is fixed, the absence of prone position does not even bother me.

1) One thing I would love to see is a small chance to encounter one of the games buddies/or any distinctive NPC at guarded places (I mean their skins as hostiles). Would that be doable? And if so, would it be doable that they do not spawn at exact places but at random spots, just like the hostiles appearance and loadout is different each time? (If I sound confusing - I am basically asking if any of the random guard skins can be replaced with the skin of Gakumba, Carbonell, or whoever else there is). It would add much to roleplay aspect of the game.

2) Is it possible to modify the nights darker without using ENB/sacrificing performance?

2.Do bullet holes now remain on the enemies head as well?

Does the added AI always spawn at specific spots? And do they have one certain destination, or will they just roam around randomly?
Will the same guard posts get into same battles with the same result?

In v1.0 there were some pleasant assaults targeting me. Felt very fresh. I encountered only 3 minor bugs, all of which I don't care about. Just FYI in case it helps understand more:
1) Buddy can not kill men in suits. They just unload automatic fire that hit, but do not seem to inflict damage.
2) When buddy rescued me (the cutscene), they did the punch animation over a "dead body" I had killed with a machete stealthily.
3) I injured a hostile in a manner that they were "shooting" me while kneeling on ground. (You know the animation..) They were equipped with grenade launcher I think, and shot at me without bullets flying. (Sound of firing was present, but no projectiles)

As I said - Minor. Nobody should expect you to remove the ******* animation from female soldiers. Thanks for the upload.

PS: If you need any tedious playtesting done, I am more than happy to do it. The more we know about how game works, the more possibilities there may be.

I love how just a year ago the idea of Stealth machete kills and option to check for time outside of safehouse were labeled as "not possible". Much respect to all who made it happen.

I tried out New Dunia Mod and all its features before this one, and can tell that I would not consider the holstering weapons and checking the time, bugs.. (I could just holster the watch, and equip the watch any time, unless I equipped either a map or weapon. Playing as sneakily as possible, so little need to equip a weapon.)

Hope these will get implemented soon. Really excited for this particular upload that is concentrating on middle ground.

From what I read so far, Redux did not want to implement stealth kills, and New Dunia at this current state seems more like experimental version / for players seeking different experience.

Sneaked around for few hours - 0 complaints so far. Feels VERY fair.

That's the thing, I rarely have to kill anyone because I plan my movements ahead and peek around corners as carefully as possible. I only shoot the one who will detect me and then sprint the hell out, approach from different side, preferably when they have lowered their guard. Can be frustrating at times, but once you get the stealth mechanics (foliage, weather, guard activity), it really is one of the best realistic stealth games ever accidentally made. By that I mean vanilla and Redux combined.

I have not experienced the 5km thingy. Was it not a sniper?

Yes, the machete thing is a total bummer. Interestingly though I have done a few silent machete kills to a sleeping enemy, but it does not always work. I wonder what triggers it.

Sometimes you see them randomly running towards you. This is mostly caused by infighting or when their campfire has gotten out of hand at some locations.
