Torment: Tides of Numenera

Early access game review

Tides of Numenera would have made sense as a quiet, indie, choose-your-own-adventure/RPG hybrid set in a strange and fascinating world. A small, indie game for a niche audience. Usurping Torment’s sacred mantle to present a barely competent CRPG with heavy interactive novel trappings that fails to elicit any sort of emotional connection with the player or give any meaningful context to his agency or interactions with the game’s world, will not be taken lightly, or forgotten any time soon, by its backers, this writer included.

Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days

Game review

The Disgaea series offers a slightly different flavor of strategy RPGs that you can't find anywhere else. The sheer flexibility available is staggering, and anybody interested in this genre should give these Disgaea ports a try, as long as you don't mind the cookie-cutter story and characters.

Livelock

Game review

If you’re in the mood for a decent top-down shooter with some solid ARPG elements in character building and load-out tweaking you could do a lot worse than the budget-priced Livelock. If you’ve got a good friend or two to play with, even better.

Redout

Game review

Nails the look, the sound, and the speed, but Redout stalls on the sensation.

Mafia III

Game review

It isnt Mafia game....Realistic driving? Nope, every car is same. Cops? Stupid and dont care about your speed etc. AI? Stupid. Vietnam eyes renthgen from NUKE war? Yes. Sountrack? Really good. Story? Around 6 hours and yes, good, but in 1st Mafia was the best story, 2nd Mafia still better. Graphic? Just like GTA IV. Shadows? Maybe next time. FPS locker? For now, yes 30 fps with fps drops. AA and other? Maybe, but game just looks ugly. SLI support? Nope.

It isnt Mafia game, it just like GTA met Watch Dogs and had baby. Ugly baby. And main hero is sympathetic as syphilis.

Civilization VI

Game review

Civ 5 is almost impossible to beat IMO. Unfortunately, that is proven here. Disappointed after a long wait...

Cons - Maps are huge. Graphics cartoonish, and I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate the map. Play either too slow or too fast.

Pros - builders, districts.

Thanks,

Battlefield 1

Game review

The campaign is worth checking out, Operations delivers clear forward thinking for Battlefield as a series in a way I think Rush never really did, and the maps are absolutely spectacular. Battlefield One is utterly brilliant.

Cities: Skylines

Game review

This game managed to be everything I had hoped it would be and then some, with all the wonderful attention to little details and customization options. Fans of the genre wont want to miss this one.
