While the mod has not (yet?) been updated to the remastered game, it will run on HW2 classic through Homeworld Remastered. Someone else uploaded this mod to steam, so you should be able to play it like any other HW2 classic mod.

In case you guys haven't found this out yet, There were a bunch of new gameplay videos posted from various gaming outlets with new HW:RM gameplay, and A few things that I was worried about are good. Namely: 1) Salvage corvettes DO work as they originally did, 2) the building queue, while looking like HW2's, DOES support simultaneous construction :) 3) while collectors do not spin around and suck up asteroids, the team did not change it to be like in HW2, where they would just mine a cluster of asteroids the whole time. Asteroids do make up less than a full load and it will collect from multiple in one run (I was real worried about this).
While I saw no evidence of fuel, :( They do seem to still be making changes up to the last day (For example the ambassador no longer has guns) so I'm hopeful that the fuel and the pew-pew gun sounds will be fixed before release. It's looking better than I thought :)
Guest is correct, they said in the PAX video that it is actually running on the HW2 engine, so mods should literally be runnable in the remasters, albeit likely with some tweaking for big ones like complex. I have mixed feelings about this, I was hoping that they would have made a new, more modern engine, but I guess it does mean that the HW2 gameplay will be exactly replicated. Worried about HW1 though... :(
I feel like the level of graphical fidelity is hard to get across purely from a video on-screen, and that it will feel and look a lot better when we actually get our hands on it. Because yes I agree the HW2 ships did not look that much different, just with excessive normal maps :(
I am also severely disturbed by the fact that the HW1 collector "docked" with an asteroid just like the HW2 ones do, the same thing you guys have done. Would have thought that with their superior ability to manipulate the core engine code, they would have been able to fix this??!! This REALLY worries me.
I would definitively say that I like you guys' models MUCH more than gearbox's. Gearbox, from what I saw, both did less to upgrade the models, and did too much... Like in the Gardens of Kadesh cutscene the ambassador corvette had these huge box-things on it where there were supposed to be just windows... thought it looked weird.
This is incredibly beautiful. Fantastic Work!
WOW! Fantastic piece! I would say that this is your most original sounding one by far, but still has that true halo feel to it. Love it! :D
This is great! :D This mod's soundtrack is really taking on a life of it's own, kind of like how the Black Mesa soundtrack did. Amazing work!!!
More specifically, it is like a lag spike that occurs in regular intervals of about 1 second, which gets longer and more serious the more ships are built... It gets unplayable pretty fast :(
I have also been having an issue with the game becoming very laggy as more ships are built. My computer can handle this fine in vanilla, do you guys have any idea what could be the problem? I have trouble playing with it...
:(
Yikes, yeah I understand. I've done some modding before and have had things like this. :( Maybe there's some sort of hardcoded selection radius based on some other factor that is centered on the center point of the model? It certainly seems like there is a sweet spot that differs by ship.
Just tried it out, very impressive work. I absolutely love your remastering of the Kharak system, and all of the other ships look fantastic. The number one suggestion for improvement at this point is vessel selection. It can be hard at times to click on things other than drag select. :( Other than that very satisfied, can't wait for more! :D
OH MY GOD THANK YOUUUUUU SOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!
I have been waiting for this for so freaking long. :D
Yeah Me too! :) Every time I come home I immediately check facebook, youtube, and this... :/
He posts it again like once a week or so. Check the date.
Great Job! Impressive improvement over your first version! :D
I was REALLY skeptical at first, but actually Gearbox's remake is looking pretty promising now... They have gotten a lot of the original makers of the game as well as listened to community feedback so... I'm excited! The biggest thing it will do that a mod sadly can't :( is bring Homeworld and the space RTS genre back into the mainstream, and hopefully we will see more games like it in the future. :)
Agreed. I can't wait for all my friends to finally know this wonderful franchise, but it's the faithful fans that have stuck around all these years that make it so great. Thanks Chimas, and good luck. :)
Great to hear your close to release! Can't wait to finally play the full version of the mod. So excited! :) Keep up the good Work!
Glad to see you guys are still at it! :) Looks Great!
I have a laptop that I got 2 years ago that is great so far. Tt's got a AMD Radeon HD 6500M series GPU. It's not on everything, just the larger ships (frigates & cruisers, collectors.)
I get it on almost all of my ships to some degree, when using the shaders 2.0 version. The only on that does not is the othrus-class. I though maybe the shaders hadn't been applied to the othrus considering it isn't finished. (Old explosion effect, not team colors).
I believe this is an issue with the shaders 2.0. It has to do with the transparency of the decals(which are what the UNSC logo and "windows" are) I.E. the textures. There isn't really anything you can do. (Unless you know how to mod and fix te textures manually.) I have this as well, but I have resorted to just using the noshaders version of the mod, as it does not us the new shaders which cause the problem. Hopefully this will be fixed next release. :(
Wow great job! I love how the Homefront theme kinda creeps in there at the end of the second one. :)
