What can I say. I'm a guy with an engineering degree and I like gaming, but I'm never quite satisfied with the product. So I change it around the best I can. I like my games as realistic as possible. I think realism doesn't take away from gameplay, but adds to it. I like to come up with ideas of how to add to the gaming experience.

Working on this now. I also think it would be more of a challenge. Force you to pick up guns more often. I'm working on integrating how much ammo you carry into movement speed as well, not just weapon weight. This should add another aspect into weapon selection. I'm also working on making the bullet spread more realistic. Keep checking back. I hope to have an update in the not too distant future. Thanks for the feedback!

I chose not to include the 50 round mag because then no one would use the Skorpion. If you know of a higher capacity mag that is available for the vz 83 (in .380 ACP), please let me know.

True. I chose the model based on the caliber because I wanted a cartridge between the other smaller rounds and the .500 S&W Magnum.

That is true for the standard one, but the JS variant is chambered in 9mm and uses H&K MP5 magazines.

Jose is right. You cannot change the armor. What I did in my mod was to tune the damage range so the it matched the armor. Light armor is like Class II and stops most pistol rounds. Medium is is like Class III and Heavy is like Class IV. Most Class IV armor uses ceramic plates that are designed to stop four 7.62mm rounds. The Heavy armor simulates this as well. The way that armor is set up actually works out to be fairly realistic. Armor stops the bullet from penetrating by spreading out the impact. So you still get hurt even if it doesn't kill you. I hope you like playing Vegas 2 better with my mod!

In the original game that is correct. I believe this was a mistake. They also had other crazy things happening like the accuracy being worse when you crouch and better when you shoot from the hip. :-D From my perspective, it makes more sense for the size of the reticle to roughly represent where your bullets could land. So in my mod a smaller reticle = more accurate. I would love to get rid of the reticle entirely, but sadly that is not possible. Thanks for the compliments. I'm glad are enjoying the mod!

Hey Jose21!
I agree and so I have completely redone the shotguns in the latest patch for the mod. I did test it however and you were probably getting headshots. I shot several heavily armored guys in the chest and they did not go down. The problem I found was that the pellet spread was ridiculously wide. So I fixed the spread and did a bunch of work to make the damage more realistic. I hope you like it! Tell me what you think!
Again you are correct! The Malaysians did order XM8s. I have corrected that in the readme. Thank you for reading it. I also took away the 3-round burst for the MTAR and noticed the in game model was actually a CTAR. So I also corrected the description in game.
Yes. There is the .338 Whisper, but is only has about half the energy of a standard .556 round and about 40% more energy than a subsonic .45 ACP (or about the same as a standard .357). So I've been following the .510 beck and decided to put that in instead even though it technically hasn't been released yet. Even it's subsonic round sits between the 7.62x51 and the 6.8 SPC. And with a tungsten carbide core, it just keeps going. It's fun when the enemy follows one after the other. It give a whole new meaning to "two birds with one stone".
I also double checked the accuracy of the FAMAS vs. the MP5 and there you are mistaken. The FAMAS is much more accurate. Is it possible you were shooting them in full auto? There the MP5 is a bit more controllable due to its lower recoil and fire rate.
I have not found a way to take away unlimited ammo for the enemy NPCs. I think even if I did they might get stuck when they ran out of ammo. They probably didn't program for that. Sorry.
I hope you like the latest version of the mod!

Glad you love the mod! Unfortunately the Usain Bolt syndrome is caused by the game only recognizing the weight of the gun you have in your hand and not any that are holstered. It is most noticeable, for example, when you switch from the 20+ pounds FN MK46 LMG to the HK USP at under 2 pounds. It's like suddenly loosing 20 pounds! I've tried to to work around this, but I have not found a solution.
Check out the new patch for the mod! I completely revamped the shotguns. Let me know what you think!

Thanks for that clarification. So if you have a modded PS3 console you can use this mod. I only wish I could make it work for XBOX. If anyone knows a way, please let me know.

It does work with Steam, but you have to install it different. There is a way to change a setting in Steam, but I find the easiest way is to go to your install folder (ex:C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars Empire at War\corruption\Data). Make a backup copy of your XML folder. And then install the mod there. To uninstall, delete the modded files and rename the new ones to their original names.

That's actually pretty realistic with the USP 40. Level III body armor will stop everything up to 44 mag. A lot of the characters in this game are wearing Level IV body armor. That would be the most likely reason you were having trouble with the Desert Eagle. Level IV body armor is designed to withstand 4 hits from a 7.62 rifle round. The .500 S&W has a bit more energy than that and will typically kill with 2 or 3 shots against an enemy with L4 armor and it's considerably more powerful than the .50 AE. Most of the sub-machine guns shoot 9mm, which is easily stopped by Level II armor. And I've heard enough cop stories to know that it usually takes more than two shots with 9mm to take someone down who is intent on killing you. But with a high rate of fire, ease of movement, decent accuracy, and a lot of capacity, a SMG is a good option for those with some skill. Since it's been a while since your post, I encourage you to check out version 2.4.2! I think it's much more refined and that you'll enjoy it. The weaknesses of any one weapon are pretty well balanced with strengths in other areas. Thanks for the feedback!

The TAR's red dot sight is specific to that gun, just like the iron sights on all the guns. There is no way to change them to other guns. Only the generic sights and scopes can be used on various guns and if it worked I put it on there as an option. Only a few wouldn't work like the pistols. Very disappointed in that. I would have loved to have reflex sights and red dots available for all pistols and the scopes available for the Taurus and the Desert Eagle.

You do not need to download previous versions. All versions are full versions, not updates. I left the old versions on so that if people didn't like some of the changes I made they could play the version they liked better.

You're right! don't know where I got that info either. Could be they added a grenade launcher mounting point. That's just a guess. Yeah I heard it was a pretty crappy gun too. I have made the correction in my new version 2.4.2. Thanks!

Unfortunately it looks like they did not want to make this game mod friendly. They used Unreal engine 2.something and it isn't supported by the modding software for Unreal 2 or 3 as far as I know or at least last time I checked. They also locked away a lot of content. It could have been to prevent cheating online, but there could have been easy ways to accommodate modding for online by making it a part of the host setup so only people with that mod could join that game. This game could have been HUGE if they had let people mod, with just content mods alone. Think of all the different weapons and gadgets there could have been, not to mention armor! And even better with a level editor. Could you imagine all the Multiplayer maps there could have been? I used to really like multiplayer in this game by the way, but shotguns were way too accurate and had way too much range. [Last time I checked snipers didn't use shotguns.] And sub-machine guns were way too powerful, almost as powerful as the rifles, which made them pretty much useless. And the order that you unlock weapons was flipping ridiculous. That's why I decided to create this mod.And modded levels for single player would be awesome as well. Just the first level alone would be so much better if there were alternate paths to the final destination. But sadly it will never happen. We can only hope that someday game creators will actually think of and listen to their fans.

I just added a version of my mod for PS3. Now I don't have a PS3 to test it out on, so I would appreciate feedback that anyone has to offer. I am also curious if you can play multiplayer online with my PS3 mod installed. Might make it worth getting a PS3 off Ebay or Amazon!

I agree this made the Consortium units more powerful. I was working on a more balanced version of this mod, but I just do not have the time to finish it. I would be glad to hand it off to anyone who thinks they can finish it, as long as they stick to plan I listed above.
On a side note, the reason the Canderous tanks are shielded is because they are repulsor lift tanks and can't have heavy armor.
