Generals Zero Hour Continue

Mod review

I honestly Love this mod it adds a ton of new units and a few new mechanics the only downside to this mod is the lack of more naval maps (particularly maps requiring a air force or navy for offensives.) If this were remedied I would give this mod a 10/10.

Halo: Combat Evolved

Game review may contain spoilers

Halo Combat Evolved came from the golden era of gaming. During this time developers Focused more on plot, level design and general game play while maintaining decent audio and visual quality. This particular policy for development led to many fantastic series of games. Many of which are still very popular today despite having outdated graphics.

Excellent games like Halo CE have a diverse set of enemies and fun weapons to fight them. Although this games has map designs that are somewhat repetitive, I continuously enjoy the last 3 levels anyway. This is mainly due to the different hostiles and their altered placement throughout these missions. This is a simple variation keeps me engaged even though Bungie reused major assets.

I Sadly find most modern games that are produced happen to be visually stunning with a weak or minimal story and that they also include too much repetitive game play. That is why I still find Halo CE and its remakes (including SPV3) to be quite invigorating to play. I actually believe that the vanilla Game still holds up to many of the current first person shooters due to the varied scenarios, interesting dialogue and coordinated balance of strength of the 1st Halo's characters, weapons, and abilities.

In the end the original Halo is not a perfect game, mostly due its reused files and dated graphics but I'll still rate Halo CE as a 9.25 / 10. That's as good as any game that has ever been released for the FPS Genera in my personal opinion.

SPV3 for Halo CE

Mod review

The weapons, vehicles, new animations, improved sound effects, and expanded level design are impressive to be sure but this is not a mod for amateurs due to its difficulty.

However the SPV3 Modders seemed to consider the casual gamers as well. By including a save any time feature SPV3 slightly balances the game to less experienced players.

When death is a big possibility to even moderately skilled players SAVING OFTEN is the solution.
