My main issue with joystick controls is that modern Windows has removed the ability to configure deadzones for DirectInput controllers. Disabling "EnableSmallMovement" seems to help, but it would be nice to have a way to fully customize pitch, yaw, and roll dead zones. I do appreciate that this is an XWA engine problem and not a TFTC one.

I'm pretty sure the only time I get freezing / frame drops on my RTX 2070 is when it tries to autosave. You might try searching for and disabling it in the options.

Good to know, thanks. In the end, I managed to just barely beat it without cheating, and even got all the secrets!

Is there a way to disable the time limit in the Eisenmann mission? I really really dislike long time limits, as it makes the game stressful instead of fun.

Same card, same problem, both workarounds work for me. The language on the website about it being an outdated driver problem is WRONG though, as I also stay up to date.

I suppose this is an engine limitation rather than a renderer issue, but I noticed that animated textures like water, waterfalls, blood pools, etc. seem to animate at a speed proportional to the rendering frame rate.

I set the framerate to 144Hz in the advanced options to match my monitor's native refresh, and it looks rather silly.

I also experienced a crash while going back and forth between different frame rates.

Thanks for the follow-up.

I read somewhere that there might be a DLL fix for the cursor issue, but I didn't chase it down because I had already given up on the launching issue.

I had already tried all those suggestions with no improvement. The good news is that I recently rebuilt my old computer (PIII-550, Geforce 2 MX, Win98SE) and Shogo is running fine on it.

Thanks for this!

Works better than my own attempts, but there are still serious issues:
- Almost every time I try to launch the game, a small black window appears and then closes, and that's it. I got the game to launch twice out of about 20 attempts.
- I can see a flickering mouse cursor.
- Mouse is super-sensitive and jerky. Fixed by turning polling rate down to 125Hz from 1000.
- Text in upper-left corner is messed up, making it barely readable.

I think part of my problem is that I have a laptop with Intel and nVidia GPUs. Seems to confuse the game horribly.

This mod is great, except that it doesn't prevent the durability hit to the weapon.
