They already are. They reign over Ironrath up in the north, in the wolfswood... I think that's it...
You probably installed it wrong or your downloads got corrupted and missing a few files. Uninstall EVERYTHING and try again :)
That's an improvement already :) I've had battles where both armies have been all mounted before, and both charge in and collide in the centre, getting stuck easily.
This looks wonderful! ((: But uhhh, is there a way you could improve on the native combat maybe? I always found it sort of irritating that after you've told your men to charge, they charge... and the heat of the fighting is a loud mosh pit, where the armies met with swords and spears swinging. Because the men are also packed close together... when they try to swing their swords, sometimes it gets stuck because they've hit a friendly unit :/ And also siege combat, is there a way to implement more siege machines, like for ladders, and towers or even rams.
But super, super work so far :) Tracking!
@OwenYulefield
I like how you drew it on maths paper :P

You could try looking for your answers here Twcenter.net
Maybe a lot of reading and surfing, but Im sure you'll find interesting topics there that might catch your eye or two........ or not, I dunno :/
@thevegimobil
Believe it or not... it's still as good, perhaps even better than it was the last time you saw it ((:

Uhhh Dubaas007 is very probably right about it ain't going to happen with TATW and Rome II. Total war games since Empire has been practically unmoddable, but I did read somewhere once that CA are planning to make Rome II mod friendly, and maybe... perhaps, some genius group of people out there will take that on and do a LOTR mod, or whatever with Rome II ((:
But seriously, I think TATW currently is so good, it doesn't need revisiting. But don't uhhh, quote me on that...
It's been some time since an update... and I was flicking through some of the images again, and it's a real kick in the teeth it has come to a halt. The stuff being created is top quality; beautifully produced, and I think (just like the trilogy) would have done the book proud. I understand why WB has done what they did, but at the same time I think it's unsporting and greedy. Credits to the team who are clearly talented at what they do... but shame the talent is kept held back and not being allowed show more of it...
@fightbreak
That's a real kick below the belt... I feel for you deeply

I think nobody's really concerned for when 3.3 comes out... 3.2 is very much enjoyable and stable ((: I still enjoy playing it every now and then anyhow ((:
Any heartwarming news regarding with the C&D? It's a real shame that it's come to this. I still don't understand why MERP gets the C&D, when there's hundreds of other LOTR mods roaming around the net.
@savvaslife
note - you only need to install one of the kingdoms campaigns i.e Crusades or Teutonic or Americas etc for Third Age to work. Don't have to install all of them ((:
Not really related to TA but... Creative Assembly has announced ROME 2 Total War for those that don't already know this. Just spreading the news that's all.
Anyway, just out of curiosity, has anyone finished the campaign with any faction?
Or do you (like me) get soo far into it, until it comes to a point where you can't expand anymore, 'cause you're at a stalemate and you would have to give to gain...
@GhostHound
The obvious problem is that gondor is neighbours with Mordor and Harad, with Rhun occasionally knocking on your doorsteps too. Like Dubaas007 said, playing as Helves is a nice steady learning curve and possibly Eriador too. Them two factions are miles away from the where the heavy fighting takes place, so you can build your nation up easier without much interference.
Build farms, roads or any source of income ASAP and only raise an army large enough to keep them in check. I don't always set taxes to very high too, infact I often keep them low at first and once the cities are built up, that's when I start taxing properly. Don't have stack fulls of reserve soldiers in cities miles away from the battle front... make large armies and station them near your border. And if Rohan is getting a pounding... leave them... you don't want to be fighting on too many fronts.
@wiio6
That seems like a nice idea. Support the Creative Assembly!
@dwhit624
well, the obvious answer for that is... so the game lasts longer. I find it boring when all the cities are the same as it's just easy then and there's no uniqueness about it.
@bstm300
lolololololol. Ummmmmmm, firstly... you need medieval 2 for any of the expansions to work... the expansions such as the crusades or americas is installed into your medieval "mods" folder. Third Age total war is... if you like, an expansion. So yeah, you need Medieval 2 installed, with 1 expansion installed (don't have to install all 4) for TATW to work properly. Read the installation instructions at the top of this page for help.
@gregplays
Yes............. You play as any of the 14 factions listed about this page.
@Kimplin
That's why it was recorded into a book(s) as when people come round to read it, they would have to use their imagination to visualize the context.
@KananTheViking
Umm... nobody is complaining about anything here...
Rohan in the film stayed loyal to the book, but for Gondor I don't remember reading anything about plate armours in the book as (I think) the military consisted of chain mail instead. Peter Jackson was adapting it into a film(s), so it had to be eye candy for the spectators ;)
that's what I suggested :))
@tfooch58
I would try locating the Third Age.bat file and launching from there. If it isn't there, reinstall with the same downloaded files, if it still isn't there you'll probably have to download again.
@pacman24
To be honest... I think of one the great things about the lotr universe is that fans can still free roam their imagination and have their own interpretation on what bit looks like what in this world. The fact that TATW (and other mods too) doesn't super glue itself exactly to how one guy orginally built it, opens up the imagination and allow fans to explore other possibilites of middle earth. In the mod I actually like the fact that it's not the white hand or the gondor infantry wearing plate armour like in PJ's movies, but we're still able to recognise them.
Horses...
@MouldyK
If you find the descr_strat Document in your Third Age TW folder, you can edit it to have however long your time limit is. And also... If you finish your campaign goal before time is up, you can then choose to play on... forever.
Yesterday, I travel across the whole of skyrim... on foot... walking. It took fooooooreeevverrrrrrrr lmao. All I remember was seeing mountains and hill everywhere (of course lovely scenery) oh and plenty of snow. I 'd say it was a........ nice experiene, but since MERP will be on a much larger scale, supported by the screenshots shown... I think I'll lose myself completely in the world of ME. Btw, the Warzones mod for skyrim really bring the vanilla to life. I hope you're going to include something like the Warzones mod for MERP. ME is at war and to see lack of battles happening would really kill it.
@deuce14
I haven't tried the 3.2 patch myself, soo don't really know for sure if it's a problem coming from the 3.2, but it's unlikely. "a pop up that was blank" is a new one :/ I've never had that before. There's really not much help that can be given apart from the old "make sure you follow the installation instructions exactly and carefully."
Ummm... oh check that your kingdoms expansion is patched to 1.5. Maybe check that you have actually fully downloaded the individual parts and patches and that it hasn't cut off half way or sommet.
You could try going to the TATW Center Twcenter.net
and do a bit of reading to see if anyone else has the same problem and a solution for it.
But apart from that... good luck.
