the mod is effectively "dead" using the Homeworld Remastered engine. Gearbox refuses to consider our requests for code changes to support our mod, so we have no other means to continue forwards at this time.

While it's been a very long time since we have done anything with the mod, it is NOT abandoned. With the release of Patch 2.1 for HWRM, we're looking into the changes made and seeing what we can do to impliment them into the mod to make it as close as possible to our original intent.
We will keep you all posted once we have a solid plan (as Jamie is busy working on other games and projects for the time being).
You planning on making anything for HWRM over on Steam?
I'll give it a try. Good to see that you haven't given up on the mod yet. =)
Apologies for the rude intro in the GBX forum. Not use to using the forum format any longer (I guess I'm a FB *****)
Would we be able to communicate, good sir?
We have a campaign in development, but with the constant changes made by Gearbox on both classic and Remastered engines, plus the beta status of the game in general make any attempts to develop the mod further pointless, as any changes we make will be undone with the next major update.
This doesn't mean we've given up on the mod, just taken a long vacation until things settle to where we can work on it.
Please keep watch for our mod, as we WILL get back to developing it once opportunity allows.
You can also find out mod on Steam here: Steamcommunity.com
That feeling you get when you WANT to do more, but you know there are major changes coming to the game that will make any progress you make superfluous when they are implemented . . . . . and all you can do is wait . . . . *sigh*
So this is a tutorial on how to use available graphic software programs to make ships, both classic and Remastered, as well as custom ships, yes?
Despite the silence, contrary to some speculation, we have NOT abandoned the mod. The dev team is just focusing on trying to fix as much as possible behind the scenes and making it compatible with BOTH RM and classic before we release an update.
Please be patient, and ya shall recieve thy reward of an awesome new build!!
You can also find us over on the Steam Workshop if that's your preference!
Interesting that the silence everywhere co-indices with the release of The Witcher 3 . . .
Yamato . . . . .
you're adding Yamato ships into Homeworld!?!?!?!
curious. Porting over to Remastered already, eh?
You imported the ones from Remastered, eh?
wouldn't it be awesome if you could? =)
curious. Will be interesting to see how this works out in the game.
MIX is a focus more on raw military firepower and tactics vs the others. The ships are more heavily armed, there are more options and types for play vs type, and Super Weapons are greatly reduced.
Think of it as a WWII naval battle in space.
serious? I dunno what you smoking, but I want some!! =P
Have you tried the steps outlined in Instruction/Animatics file provided above?
Our coder is still trying to figure out how to make it work as seamlessly as Complex. Just needs time.
you gotta show me how to do that. Need to do the same for MIX . . .
What issues are you experiencing exactly? Have you read the FAQ we provided? Unfortunately at this point there are certain graphic card drivers and configurations that can cause crashes to the game, as well as teaming up AIs to teams. For now, there can be no combining of teams, as it causes that crash. It's a free for all or the space must be empty.
Most of these pitfalls are highlighted in the FAQ. Please consult with it to overcome any issues you might have.
If that fails, contact us and we'll try to help you get it functional.
As for the rest of your request, we are still working on adding and implementing more ships and features. This is just a early release. There is much much more to come.
In case any of you were wondering, yes, we WILL be porting over to the Remastered format once it and the mod tools are released. However, exactly when is unknown as our coder Jamie has had to take a sabbatical from code work to prevent from failing his university courses (he's been burning the candle at both ends for 4 months trying to get the mod finished for release in the first place! What a trooper!!)
So we will be making the jump, just not sure when.
If any of you coders out there familiar with LUA scripts feel like helping us polish the mod before then, we'll be more than pleased to take any offers.

That depends what you're looking for in from the mod.
What ARE you expecting from the mod?
One of the reasons that the game is labeled 0.9 is that we didn't have enough time to get ALL major bugs done before our coder had to depart for University. We've done what we can for now and have found a few work arounds for these issues to help players at least enjoy the parts that do work.
Rest assured that we WILL get it working right . . it's just going to take some time as opportunity allows.
Make sure to check back occasionally for updates and patches!!
Thanks for playing and game on!!

Commander-07,
Thank you for your praise. My team has worked very hard and diligently over the last 10 months to make this mod, and while incomplete, we think it offers plenty for players who wants a more militant/hard core experience.
The Torp Cruiser issue scripts are slightly different from the mod we borrowed (with permission) from and we haven't gotten it all perfect (hence the 0.9 designation, because it's not perfect). I've seen this behavior in other ships as well. That's the engine going screwy. It happens occasionally in other mods as well.
As for the AI not doing anything but farm RU, once you start a game, IMMEDIATELY restart it. For some reason, that clears up the problem and the game functions normally as it should.
If you love the improvements we've done to the Hiigaran side, you're going to flip when we get to the Vaygr side in 2.0!!
. . . and yes, we WILL be converting over to Remastered format once the tools are available and our programmer finds the time to work on it.
Thanks for your praise and keep gaming!!
-Howitzer
You haven't given up on the mod, have you?
I can understand why. Look how long it took us just to upgrade the Hiigaran armaments!! Vaygr will get the same treatment in the next major release (probably 2.0).
While I didn't intend for more races to be added, I'm not ruling it out if someone else more familiar with those races and their fighting styles will work with us to include them.
As for Simplex, you need to look at it as a Black Mesa testing lab, where they try many new ideas and see which one works best. We've actually taken a few of their more successful/useful assets (with permission, of course) and added it to MIX. Simplex is good if you want to try out a tech idea and see how it works. I recommend it mainly for that if you want to see truly crazy stuff! =)
If you can email me you're hw2.log file to darktenchi@sbcglobal.net, I'll have out coder take a look at the error.
You might have to change your command line also. This is what I use: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Sierra\Homeworld2 \Bin\Release\ Homeworld2.exe" -w 1920 -h 1080 -Mod MIX0901.big -Luatrace -overridebigfile
