Additional features to the basic game:
1) Greatly streamlined Crew system (ships require crew) with much higher crew limits (for big space fleets.
2) Rank system that is closely tied together with the crew system
3) Game cycles, at the end of which your resource balance will be re-calculated based on new features
4) Modular weapon systems
5) Resource generation (automatic generation of RUs per upgrades\modules)
6) Area effect modules for multiple attributes (speed, harvest speed, etc)
7) Ship experience - gaining this will make your ships linearly stronger (limited of course!)
8) Large capturable\destructible asteroids
9) Multiple types of Megalith
10) Maintenance cost for ships
Changes to the fleets:
1) Split capitals into the Battle\Production and Super Capital class
2) New weapon systems
3) New Ships to each class of Vaygr and Hiigaran added

While the MIX team page has been mostly silent, we have not been inactive. We're still hard at work fixing the issues everyone has encountered as well as starting the path to converting to the Remastered format.

Well, just so you know, basically only the tutorials work for me. If I load up any of the skirmish maps it CTDs a few seconds after completing the load.
the mod is effectively "dead" using the Homeworld Remastered engine. Gearbox refuses to consider our requests for code changes to support our mod, so we have no other means to continue forwards at this time.

While it's been a very long time since we have done anything with the mod, it is NOT abandoned. With the release of Patch 2.1 for HWRM, we're looking into the changes made and seeing what we can do to impliment them into the mod to make it as close as possible to our original intent.
We will keep you all posted once we have a solid plan (as Jamie is busy working on other games and projects for the time being).
That feeling you get when you WANT to do more, but you know there are major changes coming to the game that will make any progress you make superfluous when they are implemented . . . . . and all you can do is wait . . . . *sigh*
Despite the silence, contrary to some speculation, we have NOT abandoned the mod. The dev team is just focusing on trying to fix as much as possible behind the scenes and making it compatible with BOTH RM and classic before we release an update.

Hello. I have downloaded the mod and am getting a CTD when the loading bar hits Universe. The errorlog.txt file says that Module Homeworld2.exe caused a Microsoft C++ exception in module KERNELBASE.dll. I am running Windows 8.1 64 bit with an AMD FX-8350 Black Edition 4GHz 8-core CPU and an AMD Radeon R9-270X GPU. I have 16GB RAM.
whats the difference with Complex / Complex Enchanced?
MIX is a focus more on raw military firepower and tactics vs the others. The ships are more heavily armed, there are more options and types for play vs type, and Super Weapons are greatly reduced.
Think of it as a WWII naval battle in space.
