Install the 1.3 English Patch, delete the BIN files, enter the game, start a quick or custom battle. After that starting a campaign should work.

You're probably better off without it. The mod doesn't support settlement upgrading.

This is a great mod, by far the best 1.0 release I have ever seen. That being said by turn 120 a lot of my settlements and castles are getting ready to revolt. Does anyone know a way to avoid that?

You put the folder in the mods folder in your medieval II folder.
You can find more detailed instructions if you skim through the comments section.

A better, third party english patch is in the works. Hopefully they'll post a link to it soon. The current English patch leaves a lot to be desired and causes some issues.

Read farther in the comments section and there are fixes posted. The best is downloading the descr_strat.txt fix from twcenter.

I'm at turn 18 and whenever I end my turn the game crashes. Also, while the desc_strat fix worked initially, I can't start any new campaigns anymore. Anyone else have these problems?

I can't uprgrade my settlements when the population increases, it doesn't give me the option. Also I can't convert cities to castles or castles to cities. Has anyone else had these particular problems?

Use a link to the torrent posted in the comments section of the main mod page, or wait for the mega link.

If you've already applied the patch what you do is rename the text folder (it's in the data folder) to something like "text1" then extract the russian text file from the original .rar into the data folder of the mod. Then start a campaign and save. exit the game change the name of the Russian text folder to something like "text(RUS)" or "text2" then change the name of "text1" back to "text"

Just extract them to the folder that contains all of your data for the mod.

So I've messed around with the campaign a bit after getting it to work (switch the English text folder with the Russian one, start a campaign, save, exit, replace Russian text folder with English) I've noticed a few things that can be annoying while playing. None of these problems are game breaking but they could certainly stand to be fixed.

Diplomacy doesn't work because the "Submit" button isn't there.

There is neither population growth nor the ability to convert cities to castles and vice versa.

These problems were all found using the English patch for the mod and I have no idea if they are present in the Russian version.

Other than those the only thing I could possibly complain about is that the English Patch is a bit bare bones on what it translates, but you don't really NEED any of the things that weren't translated.

Sadly I don't know of ANY total conversion mods for Rome 2.

I don't think the problem is Windows. Are you using Steam, getting mods to work on Steam versions of the game can be tricky.
