Multi-tool cannot repair everything, disassembly is its primary purpose. These two guides might be useful/: Youtube.com and Youtube.com

I bet you are just at the early stages of the game. How early depends on the settings, just give it time ...

The file you are downloading is not a "regular" ZIP archive, it was prepared with 7-zip.org which is similar, but not the same. Without 7-Zip installed on you PC, Windows does not know what to do with its .7z files - this is why it presents you with a list of options. 7-Zip is free and open source, I would advise you to download and install it first.

Using this since 1.5.1 with great results: Moddb.com

Did you try more than one ModDB mirror? There is also torrent magnet link in the Download and Installation section above.

Yep, it took me a minute to figure out too - the buttons work as before, but the frequency is now displayed on the unit itself. BTW, the same goes for the progress bar on the Anomalous Study devices.

I really hope that it is fixed (or at least pushed very far!), because the line 215 in the change log looks like something that could have caused hitting the 65535 limit so soon in the previous versions.

Not sure if it will work in your case, but I think doing jobs for one of the two opposing factions will drop goodwill with another. For examples, if a Merc did a job for Bandits, Clear Sky would not like it. Not sure what other factions behave this way ...

Right. The setting would be 'discord_status off' in 'user.ltx' - but I think this file is being generated in the 'appdata' with the defaults during the first run - would be interesting to know if your setup gets that far or not. I happen to have one as generated, let me know if you want it for your tests.

My guess would be that the error has to do with some missing dependency for Discord integration. Maybe disable that in the game options, or install Discord in your Wine environment?

I do not know all the details, but search the Forum - few months ago the user TimMiner posted to more than one thread some detailed info on how to re-spawn some specific characters using the Debug Console. The main difficulty about it is knowing what Smart Terrain a given NPC should be spawned to so that they take on the proper course of actions. I tried re-spawning Dushman myself, but never knew what Smart Terrain to use, and he would just wonder around like any other Merc in Dead City, instead of assuming his regular role. I also tried it with the old CoC style Debug Console, maybe the new F7 one makes re-spawning easier - dunno. And of course, the best source of info is the official Discord, but I haven't been there for about a year ...

A similar thing happened to me once. I was running as a Merc, and suddenly Butcher shoots me on sight - and I just sold him a buncha mutant parts, just a few in-game hours ago! Later on, I realized that the whole Trader faction became hostile to me, so my best theory as to why is that somewhere in the Zone some Mercs "offended" one of the Traders (could have been a stray bullet or a close grenade explosion), so they all became hostile to me as well.

The solution was to use F7 debug console and force them all to be neutral again, one at a time. I bet you could do the same to Lukash too. Maybe neutral won't be enough to finish the quest though, I would try all kinds of "friendly" to be sure.

No, I never solved it. In fact, ALL my playthroughs ended by running out of IDs. I think beta 3 released in the end of August was a big improvement in that department - at least I would finish all the story lines and free-roam WELL past them, but I also changed my hoarding habits to keep as little as possible, sell as much as possible, and DESTROY everything else.

The only way of "salvaging" an out-of-IDs playthrough I can think of would be to destroy as much of in-game objects as possible. I tried doing it only once when it happened to me for the first time by dragging a dead body to a stash I was going to empty, loading the items in the body, and then waiting for that body to disappear, but that was very cumbersome and I gave up.

Today I know many more debug console commands and would take a different approach: I would use debug console to spawn a backpack, place it as a custom stash next to the one I was going to to clean up, move the items, and then use 'target_destroy' debug console command on the custom stash to get rid of all items in it.

But I am not sure this would actually help for long an a playthrough that is is already problematic. These days I try to "keep an eye" on the in-game items, and sell and destroy as much as I can - for example, after big fights I almost always collect broken guns and outfits in one or two particular dead bodies, and then 'target_destroy' them before moving along to make sure that no stalker passing by would collect all those items and take to his base where he could be stuck for the rest of the game ...

Search the Forums on this site for '65535' and you will find two threads that I started a while back ... they cover the problem in some detail.

Yes, when your rank reaches some high-enough value, you start being wanted dead. Very well equipped squads of random enemy factions will spawn on the same map, they will know where you are, and they will start making their way towards you. They follow the regular a-life rules, so often they engage mutants or other stalkers, and so on. More often than not they win, but sometimes they lose too. Pay attention to those announcements, make a solid save right when you see one, and start making plans for your defense strategy. The worst thing to do is to go to bed, since you are almost guaranteed 3-4 enemies literally right next to you when you wake up. Those squads usually drop top gear, though.

IIRC, talk to Rogue and Stitch at this point - both will give jobs, completing which will make Strelok more responsive.

Type “isg” while at the character creation menu and it will unlock the faction (greh = Sin, renegades = Renegades, isg = UNSG, z = Zombified)

Why is the psy field at Yantar back up?

My guess is that the Hollow Boundaries timeline is set prior to the first three. It requires new game, so all the labs are still functioning and full of their expected occupants and dangers.

how the hell to I get a Psy helmet to pass through to the dead city???

The helmet will arrange itself in due time :) And to get to Dead City from Dark Valley one could go through Truck Cemetery and Army Warehouses, or Garbage, Wild Territory, and then quick run to Army Warehouses through Rostok. The second route requires a little more luck because of the Duty guards chasing you, but more often than not one has enough time to kill and skin a few dogs there. I prefer the second approach, since it gives me a chance to stop by Butcher for Hunter's Kit, sell mutant parts, and some cheap buckshot.

And of course, the disguise system works too. I think Hernandez even mentions it as main means to stay alive in his introductory dialog.

Sounds like Debug HUD - toggle it by pressing X at the menu after Esc in the normal playing mode.

I use the disguise when I need to kill a Military dude who is deep inside the main building, and I don't feel like wiping out the whole base ;)

Lucky for you - if he moves he most certainly dies, and your job becomes much harder: to kill boars and keep him alive while doing it.

My advice - avoid mutants and ignore mutant-related jobs at the beginning, until you have a good shotgun and steady supply of buckshot. Otherwise the cost of meds, repairs, food, ammo, etc. will outweigh the pay for those jobs. But that may depend on difficulty settings, so YMMV.

Jee, what's his name - Loris? Keep in mind that he goes to bed for the night to another room in the back. His business hours are from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, or something like that.

But in general, yes - traders can die. The one in Laundromat (Cashier?) just died on me some 160 days into the game to a joint assault of Monolith, Bandits and Zombies - only Uncle Yar has survived from the whole gangs there. Nice loot, but now I can't sell my junk in Outskirts!

Shotguns with buckshot do a much better job on mutants: get a good one and kill a snork (or any other mutated human) with a single headshot. For animal mutants aim for the read end, and kill a chimera with 4 shots. But yeah, until you have established a steady supply of buckshot shells (don't bother with anything else) and have a good shotgun - ALL mutants are a menace.

What happens to me quite often is that artefacts spawn under the ground surface or too high in the air. Almost always what works is to save close to where the detector shows it is, and then load that save.

Another possibility is that your detector is lower tier than that specific artefact requires to be revealed. For many years now I don't even bother with artefacts until I get a Svarog (in CoC and Anomaly, that is).

Explore depth-of-view aka DoE options, they are new to Update 4 and most people disable it altogether (r2_dof_enable off). I am not 100% sure, since my solution was to stay on Update 3.

Yea, man - your unzipped screenie shows no 'appdata' dir next to 'bin' in the 'Unpacked', whereas it should be there from the '3-Core' archive (with quite a few other files). When unpacking, make sure that content of the individual archives goes into the SAME folder, do not hand pick and move anything, they will merge properly by themselves.

Some times they move, even cross maps, other times - don't. All depends on what a-life tells them to do. I find that most of the times it is possible to take out a single target with a good sniper shot from the right position. But yes, not always :)
