Sadly, it's a shame that we really have no idea on how to bring this night atmosphere back at all :(

Description

Found in the "main" folder of Call of Duty World at War: Steam version.

This is what the Downfall mission should be in the original game since the Victory Banner #5 was actually raised on the top of the Reichstag around 10 PM (at night of April 30th) or the past midnight of May 1st.

And do you remember what Commissar Markhov said at the beginning of the mission?
"Crush the last remnants of resistance and this 'NIGHT' our flag will fly over this city..."

But then Treyarch decided to change the time, from a burning night into broad daylight...

Well, I GUESS Treyarch probably later confused the Victory Banner #5 with the RED flag that was TEMPORARILY raised over the Reichstag main facade at 14.25 (2.25 PM) but was thrown down because of the fierce battle (probably German counter-attack).
Link (it messed up, please copy the whole context and paste it on the URL space): Crwflags.com^vctry.html

I don't exactly know how the hell the red army soldiers able to put the Red flag over the main facade at 14.25, due to the fact that main Soviet troops were able to storm inside the Reichstag around 18.00 (6 PM). So I assumed it was the first/front group of the Soviet troops who able to reach the building before anyone else, and they either fought their way inside then reach the dome OR climb up the building. Before they were driven off by the German counter-attack.
Or even worse, there probably wasn't any of Soviet flag raised upon the Reichstag at 14.25 at all. Capt. Stepan Neustroev of the 3rd Shock Army had probably mistaken the German flag or something else for the Red Army victory banner...
