Sounds like a great idea to have free games or at least free limited-play games and demos. I don't have an HD TV and probably won't be getting one any time soon. Though $99 isn't bad for a bunch of free games with future development.
I'm sure there are performance restrictions, but if Unity can port games to Ouya, then there will be plenty to choose from.
I already have too many games to play on my PC. There are lots of demos and abandonware to keep me busy for years.... not to mention a lot of free-to-play browser games.

On other hand, browser games can be very time-consuming. Used to play loads of these, and form/join less or more successful alliances, old times.

Ouya seems to have potential to become a paradise for developers, if it succeeds.

Description

A new console, moreover:
- it requires games to be at least partially free (free-to-play model) or at least offer a demo version
- it's powered by Android so it's totally open and aimed at developers
- zero licensing fees, zero retail fees, zero publishing fees of games
- said to be cheap, about $99

You can fund it to get it early: Kickstarter.com
