Some thoughts on the mod after playing through the whole game. Overall I enjoyed it, but not as much as I thought I would. A lot of the new additions really add to the game, but get ruined by some of the lighting changes in my opinion.
I will say what I liked first. The texture upscaling and the way models look (like bottles) is really great, but my favorite feature is probably the transparent windows. It really adds to the atmosphere of the game and I would have been pretty satisfied if this was the whole mod since all of this was pretty well done. Also it was pretty nice exploring some of the new additions in the levels and seeing all the changes.
Now about the things that I didn't enjoy as much. The lighting is a hit or miss for me. Indirect lighting was good, but the problem starts with torches and other interior lights. In some areas the color of the lights works, but not in others. For example I really liked the water monster area, but the same orange light doesn't work for all levels. Some diversity would most likely solve this problem. Another problem I have is the shadows that torches and chandeliers cast. They are way to sharp and don't look great. If there was a way to make them softer or less noticeable it would definitely be an improvement.
I also didn't like the reflective surfaces all that much. Again, way too sharp and in your face. I just wish it was a more subtle effect like in the windows.
