With the newest version of CWE i felt like if one of the “objectives” was to make Socialism un-workable and to make it look as a bad economic and social/political system, which I’m disappointed at. I’m speaking specifically on the USSR, my favorite Nation to play as. The new version has a lot of great additions which make the game more real and dynamic, and it remains my favorite Cold War simulator game/mod, but here is the problem:
Historically, the USSR, in 1946, had the largest army in the world, no factory ever went bankrupt until 1988 (when Socialism was gone) and it was one of the fastest growing countries in the world. It recovered fairly quickly from WWII in Europe despite its huge losses. Yet with the new version of the mod, it’s nearly-impossible to do such things I mentioned. There is a budget deficit ridiculously and unrealistically high. If I set all expenses to ZERO or the minimum available and then I augment all my income, there’s still a HUGE deficit. It’s impossible to build factories, because in doing so, a new mechanic in the game (social-government corruption level) makes them EXTREMELY un-profitable, and therefore you have to spend a LOT of money in industrial subsidies. You also can’t maintain your Army (because of the Deficit).
And why do I say that I feel like the new version makes Socialism look bad on purpose? Because I don’t know why and where you got the idea that the Soviet Government had a “massive corruption” along with a “large social corruption”. That Socialism brings corruption is an absolute myth. To give you an example, in the American Continent, Cuba is the third LEAST corrupt country of all. Socialism as an economic and political system doesn’t affect at all the amount of corruption of a society and it’s Government; there is as much corruption as in any other country; More than these, less than those; No more, no less. And this is a fact. Come on.
But if I start a game with, say, the USA, the new mechanic says it has little to no corruption. Come on! You can’t seriously think that! As I’m a Socialist, I could very clearly demonstrate you that private factories run THANKS TO CORRUPTION and Labor Exploitation (Capitalism IS a legal form of corruption), but I’m not interested at all in saying you so because I know that unlike me, you are not Socialists (or that’s what I think). What I want to know is WHY you set the USSR as a massive and large government and social corruption and made it with such an economic crisis when historically it was in a MUCH BETTER SHAPE.
I like the new additions, it makes the game much more real (and so far is the BEST Cold War simulator game ever), which is great, but in the case of the USSR, the new mechanics aren't real at all... like the "massive corruption" that supposedly existed...

Oh, ok. No matter then. The Mod is still near-perfect. Historically the Soviet economy remained as the second one until 1991, when Japan surpassed it no doubt because the traitor began removing Socialism since 1987, even so, USSR economy would have been surpassed by the japanese one by 1995/6.

Hi, i wanted to say that this is by FAR the most realistic and balanced "game" about the Cold War i have ever played. Good job!!! I love it!!! It literally has all i want in a cold war simulator.
Just one recomendation about this paradise: In real life Socialist countries didn't have Capitalists (nor Aristocrats), but just a HUGE working class (with rich and not so rich workers inside it of course). A Capitalist is a person who OWNS a Mean of production, which in USSR and the rest of Socialist countries was forbidden. To replace them, these countries had white-collar workers in positions of power, such as Managers, Directors and high-rank bureaucrats or party officials, but they were all workers with a salary and the like. I noticed in your mod USSR has many Capitalists and aristocrats, could you look into that? Or you placed them on purpose?
