Hi, i wanted to say that this is by FAR the most realistic and balanced "game" about the Cold War i have ever played. Good job!!! I love it!!! It literally has all i want in a cold war simulator.
Just one recomendation about this paradise: In real life Socialist countries didn't have Capitalists (nor Aristocrats), but just a HUGE working class (with rich and not so rich workers inside it of course). A Capitalist is a person who OWNS a Mean of production, which in USSR and the rest of Socialist countries was forbidden. To replace them, these countries had white-collar workers in positions of power, such as Managers, Directors and high-rank bureaucrats or party officials, but they were all workers with a salary and the like. I noticed in your mod USSR has many Capitalists and aristocrats, could you look into that? Or you placed them on purpose?

Thank you for the praise! :) I try my best to give what HOI East vs West would have given.

Thanks for the feedback, I am aware of the presence of capitalists and aristocrats in communist nations. I need to have them there due to Victoria 2 limitations. For some inexplicable reason, the AI will not be able to grow the economy without them. E.g. With capitalists and aristocrats, the USSR's economic rank remains at 2 until the 60s which was true in real life. However without the capitalists and aristocrats the USSR's economy falls rapidly to 6 by 1950 which is wholly unrealistic.

Oh, ok. No matter then. The Mod is still near-perfect. Historically the Soviet economy remained as the second one until 1991, when Japan surpassed it no doubt because the traitor began removing Socialism since 1987, even so, USSR economy would have been surpassed by the japanese one by 1995/6.

Thank you. I might need to clarify about the previous post. Ideally the industrial score should match GDP, but unfortunately in Victoria 2, it is a type of pseudo thing that is affected by number of factories, technologies, foreign investment and good production. So I tend to take industrial score as a mix between technological progress and GDP, that's why I mentioned USSR being rank 2 until 1960s when they started to stagnate under Brezhnev and were displaced technologically by Japan. But you're right about soviet GDP being the second highest all the way to the end, I tried to make it possible but unfortunately the AI's an idiot and can't grow it to that level.

Hi
Some advices for Hungarian pops in 1946:

Total Popoulation: 9.67M
Total Male Population(above 18yrs): ~2.8/9 M
Total male Population of Central Hungary 1.8M
Total Male Population of Transdanubia 1/1.1 M
Soldiers: 55k (after WW2 capitulation)
Officiers 15k (after WW2 capitulation)
Aristocracy was in strong decline but still made up ~2% of population (~47k)
Bureacrats should make up 0.6% of total population (13-4k)
Around 200/220k of blue collar workers(including around 20k of jewish workers who returned from war captivity)
Udvarhely had the population of 98% Hungarian(before romanians moved there by the state)
Targu Mures Hun pops: 85%
Brasso: 14% Hun and 70% North german(Transsylvanian Saxon)
Nagyszeben: 8% HUN and 70% North German(Transsylvanian Saxon)
Deva: 5% Hun less Romanian
Cluj: 60% HUN 35% Romanian less Transsylvanian Saxon
Oradea: 60% HUN 35% ROM 3% Transsylvanian Saxon 1-1% Roma and Slovak
Szatmár: 58%HUN 25% ROM 16%Transsylvanian Saxon and 1% roma
Temesvar: 50% ROM 25%Transsylvanian Saxon 23%HUN 2% Serbian
Osijek: 17% HUN 65% Croatian 10% South German 8% Serbian
Kosice and Roznava: 40% HUN 55% Slovak and 5% South German
Nitra: 10% HUN 90% Slovak
Eisenstadt: 75% South German 24% HUN 1% Croatian

Some advices for resources:

Pécs: it had and still has one of the largest coal mines in Central Europe so I'd suggest coal
Székesfehérvár and Oradea should have bauxite since bauxite mining has been in present since 1903
Miskolc should have fruits since it gives place of one of Europe's most wealthy and ancient wine regions(Tokaj)
Szeged should have something in connection with spices since it is the biggest productor of paprika in Europe
Zalaegerszeg should have petroleum since from 1934 to 1990 it was quite a wealthy region thank to its oil fields
Gyulafehérvár Banska Bystrica should have copper as well since there were the richest mines of the Kingdom of Hungary
Deva should be salt or if that is not possible than sugar, it was a prosperous salt mine for a very long time
Krakow should have Salt/Sugar (check Wieliczka)
Rubber industry improved after the treaty of Trianon especially in Győr so I would suggest rubber as state resource
Banska Bystrica should have precious metals(gold) as its resource since the Gold mines of the region were all located there

Some advices for Hungarian Cores:
After the Hungarian Irredentism(should be called Revisionism-hungarian ,,Revízió'') the following territories of the historical Kingdom of Hungary should be cores:
-Eisenstadt
-Croatia
-Slavonia
-Voivodina
-Western and Eastern Siebenbürgen
-Banat
-Slovakia with Uzghorod
-Rijeka

Some advices regarding some new events

- If you have patience a decision 'Introducing the Hungarian Administration' would be great which would rename the provinces, would give an assimilation boost of 10-15% and increase non-Hungarian militancy by 1(it will be availavable after you have conquered back all the former provinces of the Kingdom of Hungary)
For that event here are the Hungarian province names:
Bratislava-Pozsony
Nitra-Nyitra
Trencín-Trencsény
Banská Bystrica-Besztercebánya
Roznava-Rozsnyó/Losonc
Kosice-Kassa
Uzghorod-Ungvár
Szatmár-Szatmárnémeti
Oradea-Nagyvárad
Temesvar-Temesvár
Resicabánya remains
Beszterce remains
Cluj-Kolozsvár
Gyulafehervar(romanian Alba Iulia)-Gyulafehérvár
Deva-Déva
Nagyszeben remains
Targu Mures- Marosvásárhely
Brasso-Brassó
Udvarhely- Székelyudvarhely
Pancevo-Pancsova
Mitrovica-Szávaszentdemeter
Novi Sad-Újvidék
Vukovar-Vukovár
Osijek- Eszék
Pozega-Pozsega
Bjelovar-Belovár
Varazdin-Varasd
Sisak-Sziszek
Zagreb-Zágráb
Senj-Zengg
Rijeka-Fiume
- This one is not generally for Hungary but for all the countries the (please do not blame me) GENOCIDE or removal of minorities decision which would be availavable when you have populist/nationalist government with residency and pro military/jingoism and would remove 90 percent of minorities and would give neighbouring countries a cut-down size casus belli together with 50/60 infamy for the player
- Renovate Budapest should be a decision which would give +5 liferating and a boost for immigration(50%) for a year (After the siege of Budapest the city was only debris with the royal place and all the 7 Danube bridges destroyed and hundreds of thousand civilian casualties) it would be availavable with the sum of money 50k
- Revenge for the 'Vajdasági mészárlás/Massacre in Voivodina' Serbian partisans by the order of Tito massacred ~40k(serbian archives) 150k(hungarian archives) 85k(independent archives) Hungarians belonging to the territorial minorities, the decision should be in pair with an event for yugoslavia which(if taken) removes 40% of Hungarians in Voivodina, after the event is fired and if Yugoslavia orders the massacre Hungary may take the decision and declare a war which allows humiliation and taking Voivodina.

Some advices regarding some new events
- Calling Back Horthy(Miklós Horthy, the regent and leader of our country for 24 years is now in exile in Portugal, however, in the upper house the communists are gaining more and more power and the opposition is weakening the country, through the nobility a coup d'état is organising which tries to call back horthy, what shall we do? 1. support the coup (Horthy will come back)
2 Death to the Enemies of the state! (Nationalist and Populist party will lose all its influence in the upper house and militancy among the rich is increased by 3) This event should occur in 1946 during summer
- if Horthy is back a presidental dictatorship is formed and an event fire whether Horthy should take the throne(He was offered the throne in the 1920s but he did not accept it) if he took it the country will change to absolute monarchy or something like prussian constitutionality. Regardless of choice the ruling party should be the nationalist party which is called NEP(Nemzeti Egység Pártja-Party of national Unity) which ideologies are:Free Trade ,State capitalism, Pluralism(State religion is mainstreamed but others are tolerated) Residency, Jingoism
- Treaty of Paris(Peace treaty with Hungary) should occur in 1947 February 10th if player accepts (he must except he has Horthy) the population of Sopron decreases by 6%(lands give to Czechoslovakia) Soldiers and Officers to 30k(of all) and stockpile lowers with 500 of all materials/ If player does not accept the French will gain a Cut-down size casus belli and player will gain a ''Not Again'' event which will give: Jingoism popularity : 30% and military stockpiles 1000 but a war exhaustion of 10(not again like the treaty of Trianon ruined the country and people will not accept this time so they give all they can but war exhaustion comes with this)

Some new things to be considered:

- changing currency from pound to dollar
- adding new resources: such as silicon and litium(for computer industries) and maybe an event for USA to develop the Silicon Valley (possibly adding Silicon and Litium to one of California's provinces)
- Adding Antarctic as a colonisable region(would require much work but worth it as hell just think about tension, the falkland war etc.)
- Gigantic Flood which will annihilate The Netherlands, parts of Indonesia and parts of the US (Florida, half of Louisiana) and possibly Canada in the line of the river St. Lawrence

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote
bazsik
bazsik

And some political reforms:

For Hungary the concription should be One year in 1946 and 2 years in 1992
Generally:
-Free Universal Healthcare should have the population growth modifier of 0.06/0.08% representing better living conditions and simulating overpopulation late game
-Another branch of reform in which you can ban some parties such as Communists and so on
-Protests: whether the government allows it or not should have an effect on militancy
-Subsidies for secret research facilities: maybe speed up the development of nuclear/biological weapons and the state programme
-Concription: Service until the Age of 42(like in Switzerland and Israel) the effects are quite obvious I guess

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote
settintotrieste Author
settintotrieste

Conscription is already in the mod.

I will do the cahnge for Hungary.

I won't want to add more population growth because I have recieved feedback that there is no demographic decline in the post 2000s which is projected in some developed countries by the UN.

I will consider adding the right to protest.

I don't wish to speed up the developement of Chemical Weapons because it is already quite fast. 4 years.

There is no way to ban parties unfortunately.

Reply Good karma+1 vote

By conscription I wanted to say that a further stage of the concription line (doubling the effects of ten year conscription)

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote

I think the ten year conscription effects are already large enough. Russia can mobilise 880 something brigades with only 1 year conscription.

Maybe it should be allowed only for Israel and maybe for Serbia during the Yugoslavian Civil War

Changing the currency picture is in the realm of GUI changes which I don't know how to do.

I prefer to hold off adding more resources as I will need to rebalance the whole economy again.

Changing the map to add antartica is unfortunately beyond my ability.

Gigantic Flood annihlating countries?? I think that sounds rather extreme. Is it realistic within the timeframe of 1946 to 2092?

Possibly as climate changes speed up global warming the sea level increases so below sea level territories would be sunk

Hello, Im playing Yugoslavia in 1992. One thing I noticed it seems that when I click some countries and JUSTIFY WAR is possbile when I click it, it doesnt have ooption to justify war, I mean it opens the table and says "justifty war" but no reason to justify it for, is it a bug? or I need some other government to justify wars?

Reply Good karma Bad karma0 votes

Same problem appears for me all the time: there is a justify war option but there are no options.

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote

Whether you can create a particular CB depends on the war policy of your ruling party with jingoism giving all options but pacifism giving none but status quo and containment. Certain CBs also have limitations as to whether you are in a sphere of influence or not so as to simulate the fact that your sphere leader controls your nation immensely indirectly. Your government type also determines the CB options avaliable to simulate the fact that democracies almost never declare war on each other and most wars happen between dictatorships.

Good day,

Sure, currently I have finished with regime change and in the middle of doing the UN fleshing out so there are still the 2 big features left of climate change and world epidemics in addition to some smaller ideas that I wish to implement, the Hungary additions and bug fixes so conservatively, I should be able to get 1.05 out by the third week of February.

Maybe a small improvement:

Adding international/world language
For example English and Spanish and Chinese
would give a boost to prestige and a small research speed buff
Should be given to countries with that language's primary cultures(Yankee, English,Mexican,Spanish and so on)
or the 3-5 countries with the greatest population or highest prestige

Consider this idea please and of course keep your high quality work up.

These are some changes for Argentina ->

In 1946, there are 7 important parties. (Please delete the generic ones)

-Justicialist Party - Populist ideology. (high popularity, 40~)
-Radical Civic Union - Centrist moderates. (high popularity, 40~)
-National Democratic Party - Conservatives, dissolves in 1958. (low popularity, 3%)
-Democratic Progressive Party - Liberals (low popularity, 3%).
-Socialist Party - Socialist ideology with protectionism. (middle popularity, 13%)
-Communist Party - Communist ideology. (very low popularity, 1%)
-Military Junta - Nationalist with free trade. (without popularity, because, its not a party, it represents the dictatorship)

In 1946, Peron appears (not in 1949), you can add an event to choose Perón or Tamborini in the elections:

[1946 General Election]

*If the player chooses Perón, government party changes to Justicialist Party, the lower class becomes 20% more populist, high class gains militancy, plurality increases. The country gets "Perón in power" o something like that. Relations with USA changes -50.
*If Player chooses Tamborini, government party changes to Union Civica Radical, relations with USA changes +100. The "Revolución Libertadora" should not occur if the player chooses this option.

Other parties:

-Union of the Democratic Centre - liberal ideology. Appears in 1982.
-Christian Democratic Party - Conservatives. Appears in 1954.
-Alliance - liberal ideology, appears in 1997 and dissolved in 2001.
-Republican Proposal - Conservative ideology, appears in 2005.
-GEN - Progressive, appears in 2007.

------------

And... this save crashes in less than a year. (Playing as Yugoslavia)
