Hi everyone, it has been a while since I was on moddb and my 457 updates kind of show that but I have been quite busy with applying to universities and school so I haven't modded anything in a very long time. I watched all the episodes of Firefly and loved them and I think Jewel Staite is freaken awesome in both Firefly and Stargate =) Here is something that I laughed at =)

I haven't got BBC2 Vietnam yet but it looks good but I must say I love this video =)

My airsoft gun has been causing me problems, The gears are locking up =( not only does that not complete the compression cycle the batteries overheat because with a electromagnetic motor when it does not spin does not produce any back EMF with according to this formula Vback=E-Ir when Vback =0 it can be simplified to E=Ir (E is the EMF from the battery) and since that is 9.6v=Ir. Since both I and r are unknown I do know I have very little resistance and that I blew my 20A fuse so it could be only about ~0.3 ohms and with 20A everything will heat up way to fast. =(

On the good note my laptop has been working well but I must admit the G53jx-3DE is a sexy beast.

It is snowing pretty hard here and driving home was quite fun -.- but 1998 honda will go though almost anything =)
That will be all for now and I have my finals for this semester soon so I won't be on much but hope you are having fun modding. My EAW disk is scratched and doesn't work which greatly saddens me but I don't have time anyway =(.

Since my other blog froze my computer for a few seconds every time I went on moddb am just editing this one for that and I don't have anything cool to say. At this point you show probably stop reading it but you are welcome to continue if you don't have anything better to do.

I have been testing out OC my laptop for better performance playing BBC2 but I think I will wait for winter before I go too far. It is about 35 out here and that does not help my fan to cool it off =(. Since it is that hot I should be out doors but no I was born a computer geek. Which brings up the debate on predestination and fate but I am not going to get into those or share my views on the matter( after reading this I deemed it not funny but it was supposed to be a joke). Back to the topic of computers I have a lot of work to do on the other computers in the house. On my desktop the Geforce 9500 might be broken. I am wondering if it might be the power requirements when it is plugged in that is stopping the computer from turning on cause it has the cheapest possible PSU in it. That that would be odd cause it worked fine for about 5 months. But it might just be the cheap card but that is still surprising for Nvidia. The card was never really put to the test and should not have overheated but I will have to troubleshoot tomorrow. On my laptop I will have to deal with all the lame partitions on the hard drive that it came with. The button to fix it is grayed out which makes me mad but Sierra leader found a work around on his and I will have to do the same. When browsing though the Asus owners forms I found that quite a few people have installed "snow leaper" =P on the G51jx which supposed me, though I might install linex on my computer I will not taint it with mac OS =P.

I'm not a fan of ATI but this add is the funnest I have seen in a long time lol

Happy Canada Day =)

Canada is 143 years old today =). The Queen is here celebrating ( Well... not here but in Ottawa which is only a 4 day drive =P ). Sadly there is no fireworks today cause it is raining =(. Canada must be the only country that forges our national identity in beer commercials but here are some funny ones =).

On to other news, as of July 4 to 31 I will be away volunteering at a camp and will not be active or on xfire. So this will be my last blog for a while but anyway Happy Canada Day!

Hello,

I decided to mix things up quite a bit cause I was not impressed at the SGU shows and it made me grumpy so I disowned Stargate Universe and changed my username back to what it used to be before I went to Eli.

Btw I am not actually going to leave Moddb at all but I was bored one day and decided to say that, but for some odd reason I am keeping my profile on private.

I have been enjoying my laptop quite a bit but one odd thing is when I tried to OC the GPU it ran cooler. I was like WTF but it was a full 5c cooler. Right now the computer is elevated and has a fan blowing air underneath of it which helps quite a lot. My computer did overheat once and restart but that was only after 2 hours of solid gaming on BBC2 so I don't think that will be a problem and I will just take more breaks. I am worried about the summer cause it gets up to 35c here, the ambient temperature with air conditioning is slightly over 25. I hope that won't cause any problems.

Sierra and I have been doing lots of airsofting so here is a video of a few rounds of airsoft, I am in CadPAT Sierra is filming and I'm against Shane (MarPAT/ CadPAT).

This was a random video a saw and I laugh so I put it up =P

The one concern I had was the cooling on it but since I won't be overclocking it shouldn't be a problem. There was also BIOS issues but I think those have been fixed or in the process of being fixed. I hopefully will get in by Friday this week but I am not sure.

I am thinking about getting a new laptop and I don't know which one to get. Since I am going to University in just over a year I want one that will last for a while (Not inculding battery which probaly would have to be replaced). I also want one that can play games since I won't be able to bring a desktop on a plane I want a gaming laptop. It is also a must that they can play battlefield: Bad Company 2. I am thinking about the Alienware M11x:

but it is a overpriced computer though it has really good build quility but it has old CPU in it and not very good graphics card but it is still a very nice computer. Another thing I don't like is that it doesn't have a disk drive but that would mean I would have to use steam but that is also a problem cause I can't apply for a credit card till i'm 18 and that still almost a year away. The price of the computer is $1200 Canadian and really is not worth that much. If I went up to the m15x it starts at $1500 and after some basic upgrades is at $1700 and that is slightly above what I want to spend on a laptop.

There are also other gaming laptops on the market, like ASUS G73Jh DX11 Gaming Notebook Review - ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 which is also a bit too expensive but is just as good as the ~$5000 M17x and it is only going for $1400.

I might think about one of the lesser models in this line but right now I'm on a school computer and the internet has the speed of a _________(Fill in the blank) and I can't even open the page -.- anyway that is an other option. So right now it will be between the Asus or Alienware but if anyone else has good sugestions for laptops make sure to comment. I have never used a Asus computer but I do like Dell somewhat but I am still in the research stage of finding out what I want to buy.

Edit: I just was looking at the IBuypower Battalion 101 CZ-10 and that is a 15 inch computer that is pretty good, I'm just wondering if anyone has bought anything from IBuypower and if so are they a good site? I want a computer that will last hopefully 5 years (Which is streching it) and I want to make sure it is a good computer. This laptop is under $1000 and is way better then the m11x but as I said before I won't mind paying a bit more if it will last longer.

Second Edit: I am much more interested in the ASUS computers. The one above is insane here is what can be in it and it is for a decent price but the laptop is massive.

This Spring break I have been playing BBC2 and fiddling with the UDK. I am working on a top down game where you play as being people from moddb. i.e. See my avatar running around shooting other avatars. it will be single and mutiplayer. I would rather make a FPS but since I only code and don't like to model I am stuck making a 2D game. I now know how to make maps but I am just starting to learn how to Unreal script. I am hoping I can get some pictures up by the end of this week but don't count on it. If anyone wants to help me out and model or do textures they are more then welcomed to. My days this are split between BBC2 and UDK and other random stuff. Now I feel like I'm just babbling on about stuff so here is my BBC2 stats cause I'm bored and procrastinating before I start another wave of UDK tutorials.

I am back on moddb now but my rain of terror is over and I will mostly just be using it to track mods. First of all I would like to thank INtense for his awesome job on moddb and letting me back on.

I am planing to start a mod for Sins of a Solar Empire so if anyone wants to join my mod team (so far there is a I in team) they are welcomed to. Right now I am just in the testing stage and if I can figure it out then I will continue on and post a mod on moddb. Since I can't really model and texture it will be more like a minimod. I want to make it so it is easier to get ships but ships are weaker and die faster. Right now I am just experimenting with is so don't expect much for now.

Edit: Sins of a Solar Empire hates my live soul and wants to eat me for breakfast so I am going to stick to modding Empire at War, Any ideas for a mod or if you want to be apart of the mod PM me.

I also have a new resolution of never listen to anything that sierra-leader says. It was his idea to spam that got me my well deserved ban so I will not listen to him now =)

Anyway thats all for now I will update my blog if my first attempt at modding works out.
