As much as it pains me to say, this is a very poorly done mod. The models and ships are excellent. Being able to fly the Galactica has been a dream of mine for 10 years and I am extatic to finally be able to enjoy this. On the technical side everything is well done.

But then it starts to all fall apart when you look at the mechanics.

From a design point of view everything is a mess. Missions have little to no detail. The narrative is non existent, forcing the player to go into the changelog to find any details about what to do. The balance is just awful, the cylons all have significantly stronger shields, hulls, and weapons compared to the colonials. This is exajerated by the fact that it is very difficult if not impossible to properly equip colonial ships with equipment. Part of this comes down to limits in game of goods production. Some of it however is strictly on the mod. When I found the Galactica it had little more than a few flack guns. Even with the supplies from the gemini freighter and the defender I was unable to properly arm the ship. Very few ships have jump drives making the canon method of running from the cylons impossible, which really puts the player in the bind for the next issue...

Possibly the worse offense of all though is the random attacks. Once the player gets far enough in the game raiders will jump in every few mintues to attack the player. This alone isnt bad enough, the raiders are very buffed. I sent in a squadron of vipers, only to see them get anihlated by the enemy ships. Even worse, I am now stuck, as once you get the Galactica the Cylons will chase you down and launch a massive attack. There is no warning, aside from recon raiders that show, but the fleet will always follow. I was luckily in orbit of the Teladi home system and not some random empty system with my whole fleet, as mentioned before very few of my ships did not posses jump drives so I could not just jump them out. Fighting is impossible as the cylons posses MKI base stars for no logical reason, and these base stars can and will tear through the galactica and defender like a hot knife through butter making fighting impossible.

I reiterate that this mod is wonderful on a technical level, but the devs, if they are still paying attention really need to rethink the design of the missions.
