But it's irrational to work on something that is not geared towards co-op, which would mean that we would have to thoroughly rework the game experience in order to make it interesting to play in co-op. This is not to mention the fact that an infinite amount of script data would have to be transferred to the multiplayer rails and all possible situations would be synchronized. As a result, having spent many years implementing even part of this plan, we would still end up with an empty and boring world for the sake of 1-2 passages by two players.

What I can't say about the multiplayer modes we're working on. Even the released Defense mode has a lot more variety of game situations and fun, especially when playing with friends. And future modes will multiply this fun a hundredfold. :)
