X-Ray Multiplayer Extension: 0.7.6 UPDATE RELEASE

WINTER STORIES

Jump into the cold world of a seasonal event called X-Ray Multiplayer Extension - "Winter Stories". This is a coopeartive story for two players. Help stalkers, explore the environment and spend time with a nice company.

0.7.6 update is available to download from our launcher. Seasonal event is located in an eponymous tab. Get the launcher (if you don't have it yet).

P.S. Highly recommend NOT to use HDAO AO mode due to incorrect texture rendering.

SEASONAL EVENT

You will visit a shining Cordon covered in bright snow, find yourself in a heavy snowfall blocking the view of a persistent traveler, in the sound of a howling wind, and will feel home comfort that protects every stalker from a cold storm. More than ten quests and unique characters with their own voices were written for co-op playthrough.

This event had a long way since the first idea until it's release. The development process took several months with varying success and a few technical issues still persist. However, more than a dozen people took their part in creating this small story to give you a nice holiday mood, even if only for a short period of time during the playthrough.

GENERAL

More than that, a large work took place improving and fixing existing gameplay mechanics, reworking some character animations, updating UI in main menu, in-game lobby and in-game HUD, making lots of tweaks to weapons from Gunslinger Mod and it's sounds, as well as creating new music tracks for in-game combat in "Defence" mode and in-game lobby.

SETTING UP THE 0.7.6 UPDATE AND SOLVING ISSUES

LANGUAGE CHANGE

If you have Russian language in-game and you need, let's say, English, then exit the game, go to Settings in launcher, select any language other than the one you want and click Apply. Then select the language you need and click Apply again.

"WINTER STORIES" SEASONAL EVENT

To launch the seasonal event, open up the Seasonal Event tab and click Create server (WARNING! Do not set a password on your server, otherwise no one will be able to connect), then after it has started, click on Connect to your server. For your partner to be able to join the server, they need to launch the game from the same Seasonal Event tab. It works the same way with the base game - to play in Defence mode, you need to launch the server from the Server tab and launch the game from the Home tab. If you've got dynamic IP and the server isn't visible in server browser, you can use software to imitate a LAN network, such as Radmin VPN. Instructions below.

INVALID HOST ERROR

Disabling firewall can fix this issue. Open the Start Menu, type Windows Firewall, then in the left-hand menu click Turn Windows Firewall on or off and turn it off.

RADMIN VPN

Download and install the program, after launching it click Network > Create Network, type in your desired network name and password, then click Create. After that, if you've created your own network, invite other players to it by giving them your network's name and password. After joining the network, players will need to copy the IP address of the one who they wish to join and paste this IP in-game by clicking Direct IP in server browser.
