The flow is impressive and the action is non-stop: sprint may be used infinitely, and there are no disruptive cutscenes. The level design is unusual and creative, although some of the jump scares were predictable or unoriginal. The monsters are quite intimidating and clearly diverge from their half-life counterparts. The sound effects and music produced a very atmospheric experience. The story seemed to be an afterthought, and was certainly not the first of its kind. However, the minimalism of it was strangely engrossing, and I found myself inspired to speculate and grasp at any concrete details about David Leatherhoff.
