I don't want to even try playing this story because the name of it is so incredibly stupid.

For anyone that is interested, I am not the creator of this custom story but I took it upon myself to fix a few things that annoyed me with Weird Room and that I felt should be changed in order for it to function properly. Here is what I changed:

1. I left the first level untouched, as it seemed to play just fine.

2. In the Grunt's Mansion, I eliminated the hazy fog and fog coloring and toned down that bloomy washed out blinding light in the hallways. It's much more natural looking now.

3. In the castle, I replaced much of that pounding techno music with a more subdued and peaceful tract from the original Amnesia game as ambiance music.

4. And last but not least, I eliminated that highly annoying brute in the closet section that causes the player to freeze and die. He's not inside that closet any more. You can simply pick up the key from the chair and move on.

5. I also added a concise walkthrough in the zip file that will explain step by step how to obtain the normal ending.

And change this line to true: AllowQuickSave="true”. Press F4 in the game to quick save and remember to save often.

Blinking eye? I thought something was wrong with my computer. That has got to be one of the most obnoxious deliberately sabotaging effects ever put into a full mod or custom story. You really should think about releasing a version without it. Seriously, it's beyond distracting to some people.

Mazes, linear or not. Still the same to me. There is a garden maze to find the buttons and another maze at the very end. Just not enjoyable to me.

Too many mazes for my taste. I really don't enjoy them.

That was one of the most abrupt give-up endings I think I have ever seen in a custom story. It was enjoyable until it just ends like that. You should really consider removing this story from this website until it is complete. The ending was like you simply got tired of making it so you just gave up.

This mod is unplayable for me. I can play all my other custom stories and full mods in 4k resolution with a gtx 2080 at 60fps, but not Decayed History. That outside area at the beginning drops my fps in half to the 30s. Frame rate also takes a massive hit inside the house. And I am also experiencing a constant flicker/flashing of the screen that never stops. Like I said, I don't experience these issues with any other story or full mod. I will have to pass on this one.
