If 1 is too fast, you can always go into the control panel to modify your mouse settings to have a lower speed.

I've got to say, playing Revision feels a little like playing Deus Ex for the first time again. It has that sense of wonder and excitement that can get extinguished after several playthroughs.
Well, I'm not going to talk much about this, I have more Revision to play. :P

I wasn't aware that dodging was even a mechanic in Deus Ex... you mean like UT-style dodging? Because I don't remember that being in Deus Ex at all.

Not to mention that Deus Ex is on sale for only $1.39 right now.
That's practically nothing.

EDIT: I'm not saying I support the Steam-exclusivity, but it's not the end of the world.

Just installed and started it up. That main theme sounds pretty nice.

Not everyone has Deus Ex on Steam nor do they want to buy it on Steam because they likely already have 1 or more copies of it.

Even if this is true, though, I don't think it is too much of a problem. Deus Ex is often on sale, and even when it isn't, $7 is not asking much.

Watch out then, rumor has it that a suspicious man in a baggy trenchcoat, that makes him look bigger than he really is, may try to kidnap your family to make some quick money that he will probably only ever spend (accidentally) on candy and soda.

It was never going to be the main storyline, but a parallel one where you stay loyal to UNATCO, and go to assassinate Tracer Tong or something. I'll try to find a source.

I never even considered just going back to Paul after getting the info. There is just so much in Deus Ex already, but it seems like the developers had planned for so much more content too. I wonder if this originally had something to do with that secondary storyline, the one where you stay loyal to UNATCO?

Do not speak of that game. It can only bring terror.

Stardust: This group only made this one song, but it ended up being pretty popular when it was released. One member from Daft Punk was part of this group, and the song definitely has that Daft Punk feel.

[insert company of choice]: I am right behind you, player.
Player: Who's this?
???: Soon I will be ahead of you, beside you -- I will be a part of everything in your world.
Player: Everything, huh? Is that DLC you're talking about -- or just a bunch of New Age crap?
???: Yes... a New Age. Too bad you will not have enough money to see it.

Unreal Tournament (1999) also had a bit of portal technology in one of its maps. Both of these games were made for the Unreal Engine, though.

I have a quick question about Revision. When installing it, will it create a separate executable from the one for the original game, like what the Nameless Mod does? Or will it install itself over the original game? If the latter is true, should we be prepared to install Revision over a fresh, unaltered installation of Deus Ex?

You have completely misconstrued what I have said.
Also, if you really played with people who knew what they were doing, you would know that teamwork and synergy is essential in UT CTF.

In reading all of your replies, I would like to amuse you with information about yourself. Let's begin.

What would any troll be if he didn't try to start a flame war? Looking at your previous posts, including this one, it is clear to me now that you are trying to get a reaction out of people. It seems that every single comment that you post is purposefully created to **** off as many people as possible. Take, for example (extracted from your comment history):
"I beginning to think this is a hoax." ,
"DX human revolution? That game is more of a watered down hybrid of what Deus Ex was anyway" ,
"No, this isn't call of duty! It isn't for immature brats with ADD" ,
"Don't know why you had to remove my previous post, maybe you don't want to know the simple truth".

Though, if you really do feel this way, I don't know what to say. Poe's law. I would imagine, though, that a real person that held such controversial opinions would learn when every single one of his comments had negative votes.

You SEEM to be incredibly elitist and narcissistic. After voicing your opinions, you continue to seek out fights as you insult people with such clever names as "kid", "cretin", "retarted spaz", and "stupid". Anyone that disagrees with you is, as you put it, not wanting "to know the simple truth."

Take a look through all of this: Moddb.com

You give the impression of an edgy, ignorant teen. For example, "This is what is ruining games today everything has to be fast paced crap". It's like when you find these edgy teens on the internet who think that there's no good music being created today, but have not tried to find anything beyond the popular artists.

You believe that the entire FPS genre is trash and that anyone that enjoys it is a "cretin with ADD". Moreover, you believe that someone that enjoys a few FPS are incapable of enjoying Deus Ex in the way that you think it should be played.. I don't know about you, but that sounds a little extreme.

With all of this said, I want to give you the benefit of the doubt and say you are a troll. You joined in 2011, but have only recently started to post comments, all of them being bait in this comment section. It's all very peculiar.

I would like to finish with this: De gustibus non est disputandum.

You can't completely define a game simply by saying what genre it is, because that would be doing any game a huge injustice. Imagine if I said that Skyrim and Earthbound are RPG's, while implying that they are pretty much the same because of it. That would be silly, wouldn't it?

I can't tell if you are a troll or you are just naturally this presumptuous. Poe's law, I suppose.
I find it funny that you think you know how I play the game. Guess what, genius: I actually PREFER playing stealthily, and have done a couple of lethal and non-lethal stealth runs in the game.
And, do yourself a favor and play some high-level Counter Strike or Unreal Tournament, or at least watch some pro matches. Then, try to talk about skill without being ironic.

You've posted pretty much the same comment, so I give you the same reply:

"In Deus Ex, the POV is first-person. There are bad guys. You shoot at said bad guys (if you want). Sure, Deus Ex is an altogether different experience than almost any other FPS, but the mechanics are there. If those aren't the defining features of an FPS, I don't know what are.

Stealth is usually the easier option in Deus Ex, as it allows you to carefully plan your approach, but a run-and-gun approach is still perfectly viable if you've leveled up your skills at least a little bit and have some general skill in traditional FPS."

CoD is not the definition of FPS. FPS is just a mechanic; it does not define the game, even with something as simple as CoD.

You've said that playing Deus Ex as a run-and-gun is far easier; I have to disagree. You may get through the game more quickly, but that is not the same as difficulty. You risk damage/death far more with a run-and-gun strategy, though the rewards may be greater.

Why are you complaining about how others play Deus Ex, a game that is known for its choices? Emphasis on CHOICES.

I was introduced to Deus Ex by Unreal Tournament. I've been playing UT off and on since 2001 (it's that good). I loved UT's soundtrack, and when I heard that another game had been made around the same time with a soundtrack composed by the same people, I instantly looked up the game and bought it. This was only about a year or two ago. Now, it's my favorite game (and UT is my second favorite).

I realized that I've been avoiding playing Invisible War all this time, and since we're waiting for Revision, I figure that I might as well check it out. For all the hate it gets, it doesn't seem like a bad game.

The biggest problem I have with it is getting it to work correctly though.
