Just read through the argument you and badger had, made me laugh.
anyway, yes the maps are quite bland and that but if you can make the storyline and characteers as immersive as you say then it will be wicked, deus ex had **** mapping but the story line was fantastic so i forgot about it.
i'm sure you are going to do this.
also about the entity lighting, i know u need it and everything but perhaos tone it down a bit, considering what time of light it is (flourescent tubes) it would shine a big circle on the roof like that. lowering it down will add a bit of shadow and depth into ur map as well, make it look nicer. tad to "fullbright" style at the moment.
just my thoughts anyway.
