even in campaigns it says: Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit

Can someone please help me? I wanted to play version 3 of dac so I installed it. Unfortunately I installed v3 into v2.2. Now I uninstalled my whole Third Age folder, installed Third age v3.2 again. Now I wanted to check if everything is running well. Opening the game isn´t a problem, but when I want to play a custom battle the game crashes when the battle wants to start. I even watched Arachirs installation guide and done it the same way as he did, but it is still not working. Can anyone give me any suggestions?
