Hey guys, check out the latest issue of Wired UK magazine for an article on Dan, Rob and Dear Esther plus a little bit of my DE artwork. Its on page 57
Enjoy!
Ok i finally got a chance to properly sit down with the game and i have to say it really hit a nerve. In the first 10 minutes i was terrified, i had no idea what might happen despite seeing a very early build of the game for art purposes. The last game i played that made me feel this uneasy was Silent Hill 2. At one point i actually became nauseous, due to the tight corridors, low lighting and panicked state i was in. Maybe this is not a good thing!? I think its because commercial games feel like you are playing in a "safety net". No matter how weird things get you always know it'll come around at some point because of the conventional game "rules" Dan has attempted to break here in Korsakovia. It made me think of Ravenholm in a way-yet with no reassuring (and inevitable) feeling in the back of your mind that Alyx is waiting at the other end. At times i got very stuck and yes there are some problems that take the disorientation too far. I think with some of these issues cleared up, this will be a very memorable experience.
N.B One of the doctors has an odd taste in artwork..... ;)
Fantastic work Rob, this is really exciting!

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys, im new to the mod scene and its a privilege to be involved with the development of such interesting games as Kosakovia and Dear Esther. Hopefully my concept artwork will help contribute to the sucess these titles thoroughly deserve. Cant wait to see Korsakovia finished and also Robs update of Esther-now i just need to save up for a new computer to play them on! :)
