Hi ! I just watched the video and thank you for this very positive video about the mod. Thanks also for the compliments but it's a team effort above all and it's thanks to the people who helped develop the mod like dadasauvage , TEN.Sylvain and SVNOB*REPVS but also to the people who test our versions, to limit crashes and bugs, before releasing a new version of the mod 😁

Hi there !

We'd love to add skins and do a huge amount of work on the units, but unfortunately we don't have anyone who knows how to work on this part of the mod, so if you know someone who knows how to work on units on M2TW, don't hesitate ;)

Next, the script appears twice, the first time announcing the faction's appearance in the game, and the second time announcing that it has landed. For the mission, we'll change the vocabulary, thanks 😉

Hello !
Thank you very much for your comment. I understand your concern about units and it's something we're trying to plan for in case we add units (something we can't do at the moment as we don't have anyone in the team to create new units).

To mark the differences, we'll be relying on a roster of regional and cultural units. For example, Norman and Flemish knights will only be recruitable in Normandy or Flanders. There will be the militia from the vanilla game, but I'd like the game to incorporate a French urban militia (which existed in the north of France and were present during the Battle of Bouvines) and a Flemish urban militia (present during the Battle of the Golden Spurs). These militias can only be recruited if you are French or Flemish respectively.

Similarly, only Latin factions (ecclesiastical principalities and the Imperial Church) will be able to recruit Crusader units or units from military orders.

I hope I've been able to answer your comment, so don't hesitate to ask any other questions you may have ! ;)

Hi, there's no problem. If you're a regular Medieval 2: Total War mod, we've used the same installation as most mods. So you download the Alpha 1.2, it will download in a Winrar format, so you have to unzip it, but if you have a "normal" folder (like any other file), you just have to follow this path: SteamSteamapps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods.

When you get to the "mods" part you will find the different campaign DLCs of M2TW (Britannia, Teutonic, ...). You drag the file which you have in it. Then, you rename one of the campaign DLC to another name (for example TRUE Teutonic) and you rename the mod file Teutonic.

When you launch M2TW via Steam, don't forget to choose so that it looks like you want to play the Teutonic campaign but since the file has been replaced, you will actually play the mod. I hope I've made myself clear!

Hi, sorry for my late reply, I was indeed mistaken, I was mistaken about Heinrich of the Holy Roman Empire, thanks for the remark.

About the coat of arms, I can't find anything about it, if you have a link or something, I'm interested.

Thanks for your comment and happy new year 2023 to you !

Hi, sorry for the delay in my reply. To install the mod, you just have to place the download file among the other campaigns (Teutonic, Crusades, etc.).

You then have to rename the mod you downloaded to one of these 4 campaigns. Then, you launch the campaign in which you renamed the mod.

I hope you get the comment !

Happy new year 2023 to you !

Yes, I looked.

Honestly, it's a very good source of information and the geographical settings are quite varied. But again, we'll have to see if these coats of arms fit in with the other coats of arms because we're trying to have a uniformity of style for the coats of arms.

Thanks for the information, I didn't know this site at all. I'll take a closer look because if all the coats of arms of all the cities are there, we could take them (as I want uniformity in the coats of arms and faction symbols).

But when I see some of the coats of arms and their compositions, most of them are from the 16th century, with the addition of elements in the coat of arms that we don't have in the 11th century for example. However, I will take a closer look. Once again, thanks for the site!

Thanks for your feedback, Dadasauvage has fixed about 40 bugs and I have released a new version (Alpha 1.1) which should be available soon after ModDB has checked the file. This version fixes a lot of bugs but you may still crash but just restart the mod. If there are other bugs or abnormal things don't hesitate to tell us in the ModDB comments ! ;)

Hi, I just saw a live from Kosss about your mod and it makes me really want to play ! I understand that the development of the mod will require time but could you make articles presenting the factions and their units? I hope you'll manage to develop your mod quickly and good luck to the whole team!

Hi, sorry for the delay in my reply. So, as you can see on the mod page, we currently have this as a faction (but 3-4 factions may be added in the next version of the mod):

Ecclesiastical Principalities.
Imperial Church.
House of Normandie.
House of Blois-Champagne.
Capetian House.
House of Rethel.
Salian House.
House of Billung.
House of Hohenstaufen.
House of Holland.
House of Flanders.
House Hainaut.
House of Boulogne.
House of Leuven.
House of Enghien.
House of Lorraine.
House of Berthout.
House of Looz.
House of Namur.
House of Ardenne .
House of Dunkeld.
House of Wessex.
House of Estridsen.
Rebels.

We will be rearranging the units and redesigning them to fit the identity of the mod, although in the end you will recognise them as being from Medieval II Total War.

Hi TimotheeMi , thanks for all the compliments and sorry for the late reply. We are now reworking ALL the mod: new map twice as big and many other additions that we hope you will like. Then, thank you for your remarks on units brought to the mod and I see that you know about this topic. So, would you be interested in joining our team to take care of the mod units ?

Thanks, we'll do everything to make sure it keeps its promises!

For the moment and as you can see the mod is still in beta even if we already have our little ideas. We will try to limit adoptions as much as possible, and if you adopt the characters, you will have a malus because of the bastard trait that we have revised. The adoptions will be limited to push the player to make marriages with the different factions and thus build alliances. But we still have to think about other things we could do with the mod. Then, concerning the factions, we went from 10 to 23 factions, I think that's already quite a lot between two betas. It's true that we can go up to 31 factions (including Rebels). However, I think that the next factions will be added according to several criteria: the importance of the faction at the time, its history over time and if we have enough information on it to make it a faction.

I hope that I have answered your questions and that you will give us feedback on your experience of the mod.

Thank you! Glad you like the mod! Normandy is already present in the mod. As you can see, there are already many factions (23 factions if I remember correctly). I think that as it stands, we won't add more factions unless we deem it necessary to better balance the forces between the factions.

As far as units are concerned, we agreed to keep rosters of (vanilla) units, so not units like in the "Das Heilige Römische Reich" mod. Moreover, on the current version of the mod, these are units that come exclusively from the vanilla but in the next version, we intend to add other units from various mods to bring specificities to certain factions and we intend to make AOR type troops that can only be recruited in one or more colonies (these will be troops of knights on horseback and knights on foot such as Flemish knights, Norman knights, etc).

Apart from that, once again, the next version will have a brand new map that will normally be 2x bigger and will have the maximum number of colonies available (199 regions)! I hope I've made you want to play the mod and that I've answered your questions 😉

I'm glad you like the mod! So, I don't have a specific book that deals with the history of the regions present in the Middle Ages. All my knowledge comes from courses I'm taking at university (I'm in the faculty of History).

However, if you want a general overview of history and accessible, I can suggest Wikipedia (type in the name of the factions on the internet and you'll usually find Wikipedia records explaining) which have good records related to this mod and the online encyclopedia Britannica ==> Britannica.com

But to give more information and for those who read the comments, I intend to make (if I have time) articles that concern the mod to contextualize you and give you a maximum of information but remaining in the generality. But they are also present in the mod in the form of event but very quickly summarized because there is a limit of place.
These articles will be about the factions present in the mod and their members such as Godfrey of Bouillon, William the Conqueror or the Holy Roman Emperor Henry IV. But also on currents of thought or concepts such as the Gregorian reform or the Imperial Church. But once again, everything is done to try to explain the context and certain events that took place from 1080 to 1250.

P.S. The articles as well as the information given in the mod are justified by sources so that if you wish, you can go and find the information and document yourself further.
