This is a group that was created for anyone who loves Star Wars, may it be the books, games, films and modding. This is the place for you to enjoy star wars!
"Well, I guess I need to do my job." lol I thought your job was to be the Police, not the poster.
As for the T-85, it's okay I prefer the T-65 or the T-70 in terms of design. Since the New Republic demilitarized I doubt that it's next-gen fighters are anywhere near as good as the older models since the New Republic is no longer on a war footing. Then again the New Republic military still has standards to uphold and therefore I doubt that it's a piece of junk, but I feel like it was designed with Policing in mind and not war.
There isn't much to police if there is no activity in the first place.
IMO looking at the sheer bulk of the ship I think it is much more multi-mission focused than the previous X-wings. Which makes sense since the NR starfighter corps is much smaller in number.
True I didn't think about if your downsizing your corp you're going to obviously make up for it with better equipment that can, in theory, fill several roles. This could explain the lack of Y-Wings and the reason why we have the Starfortress instead. Y-Wings were replaced with X-Wings that could serve as space superiority fighters, Anti-Capital Ship bombers, and ground attack fighters. The Star fortress, on the other hand, was most likely solely designed to fill a very niche role in the form of a heavy ground attack bomber something the Y-Wing also use to do. A-Wings, on the other hand, are interceptors and therefore got an upgrade as well, while other craft like Y-Wings got replaced. Now the New Republic has three mainstream craft instead of four, and even then the X-Wing is probably the only one out of those three that are truly needed.
It is astonishingly sublime.
There are things I like about it and things that don't quite click as starwarsy enough. It fits well into the aesthetics of the sequel era though.
