This picture is but a reminder to me, these people hate us for they fear what they do not understand. They are blind, like a vessel at sea. In the dark without even a star in the sky to guide their way.
In the games I have played over the years Ive come across factions and groups that describe us best. Here are 3 of them.
Were like the Aeon Illuminate, from Supreme Commander, in that were an order bent on galactic peace and prosperity for all humanity. Yet the crusade we fight is in the spiritual. Like them, we desire to see all humanity converted, all believe in the Way. For it will bring that peace to us all. And end our endless cycle of war once and for all.
Were like the Space Marines from Warhammer, in our pious devotion to our Emperor and enmity to chaos. Like the Space Marines, we fight our own forces of chaos in this universe. The forces we fight are foul. Forces capable of demonic possession of individuals, forces capable of twisting them to something terrible, even to the point of having them cut up their own children as gifts to their blood gods. But like the Space Marines, we cleanse the galaxy of this heresy. We fight these foul forces in the glorious name of our Emperor, Jehovah, and we do it by his Word.
Were like the Clone Troopers of the Grand Army of the Republic in Star Wars. We were bred to serve, and serve well. We fight the battles no one else will simply because they aren't built for it. Like rank and file, our master holds not a one of us above the other, as if we all shared the same face. But that is not his real reason, for to Him, we are all his children. Not slaves, not mere clones, but sons and daughters of God.
Frankly, I'm honored to serve the Lord, and I'm honored by his trust. I'm not perfect, I admit. But in the end, it's better to die in his service, than live for yourself. I believe that. Any other life isn't even worth mentioning, for any other life is but dust and echoes.
But this life is eternal...
Ehh, I'll kinda disagree on the Space Marines thing.
While true, the Chaos followers in the 40k lore share quite a few similarities with satanists, Space Marines fight a primarily physical battle. No true Christian will be gunning down heretics, that's not how we roll xP
Also them Space Marines will do *anything* commanded to them in the name of their emperor, regardless of how wrong it might be. And they're (arguably) the good guys! Part of what makes the 40k universe the most grimdark of them all.
Also, gotta love how so many atheists systematically bash and discriminate anyone that isn't also an atheist/non-believer under the argument of "freedom of thought". The irony of the lack of thought put into their actions never ceases to amaze me.
Actually we follow pretty much the same credence as the Space Marines. We do follow whatever command is given. No matter how right or wrong it may seem. For example when God told Abraham to sacrifice his one and only son to Him as a test of faith. Of course the Lord stopped it at the last second, but the point was Abraham's faith was to be such he would follow any command given.
I'm aware many would disagree with that. But part of being a good soldier is following orders without question. Of course if you have that mentality with mankind then you'll be getting your hands dirty consistently. But the thing about God is he is incorruptible. In order to follow him, you have to believe that. And that it is why we follow without question.
Now about the killing thing...
I said we do it by His word. That's how we fight chaos. Forgive me if I may have mislead you and everyone else who read that post.
And the thing about the chaos we fight is it isn't just related to satanist cults. But in general it influences everything on this world. There was a time on this planet that things were so dark that human sacrifices, orgies, blood cults, and all kinds of heretical activity were present in force. After Christ came, these things began to become less frequent of course. But they still exist.
Demonic oppression is more common then ever though. It's one of the main causes of suicide. Strong concentrations of these dark influences can cause that.
The freedom of thought argument is an overused one for them. All I can say is blessed is the mind too small for doubt.
Reminds me of cultists.
Personally I just ignore them. Lord sorts it all out in the end.
As for us, were more like the Empire. Peace, Order, and Justice for all.
If that makes us evil to you, well then I guess were evil.

Look I don't like it when you have radical Anti-Theists (who think that they have some sort of duty to wipe religion off the face of the Earth) yelling at ya about being religious, but dammit people that's not every Atheist. I hate it when people just dump an entire demographic into a category of being a "hate group" just because a very vocal minority makes a fuss.
Why do you think those Anti-Theists exist in the first place?! Because there are radical religious people who make up a minority of religions but are very vocal about their beliefs, and they stir up trouble. It goes back and forth and they play off each other. Don't play into that stupid game people.
Side note... with exceptions of a few Chapters of Space Marines, and Regiments of the IG... I would say the Imperium is one of the more evil factions in WH40K. And they're devotion to the Corpse... I mean God Emperor is quite foolish since he himself (like the Buddha lol) told them not to worship him!
I can think of quite a few people and groups who would define us as evil as well.
You know, has anyone stopped to think about what it is were fighting for? Why this war between Truth and Choas wages on?
The thing about this is the war that's being fought is for who that may define righteousness. Satan desires to replace God so that he may redefine what righteousness is in his corrupted state. If he were successful, than it would plunge the entire creation into a state of darkness we would never recover from.
It's what it's been about from the start. Whoever is God, DEFINES, what righteousness is by their word.
Righteousness and evil are two words that depend on one's perspective. But for us Christians, the Lord defines what Righteousness is by his Word. And just as well, whatever goes against his Word, is evil.
His Word is what's Righteous, and whatever opposes it is unrighteous.
Say that to the World now, and to them, were no different than the Imperium of Man in Warhammer.
In this corrupted world, evil is merely a term that is used for those we deem a threat to us.
Honestly, I like the Wh40k games, but the story about how the Emperor came to be is extremely blasphemous. If you read the lore, it states that he was the one who "pretended" to be the God of all the Abrahamic religions. It claims that our God is just an immortal man with magical powers of deception. I find that highly offensive. Then later on he murders every religious person on Earth and destroys every trace of every religion. This sounds more like a portrayal of Satan to me. Pretends to be something and then betrays his followers and murders them all. Nope, according to the lore its "God" (the Emperor) doing it.
Eh, I don't really care about offending atheists or their egos anymore and I'm not even that religious.
My defence of Christianity can be confused for being extremely religious but in real life, asides from being an adherent of Christianity, you wouldn't think I was religious as I don't go to Church or even speak about religion to people.
I simply defend religion, like most Christians do given the circumstance, when it's attacked. Since that's normally always on the internet (and particularly, in the past, on this site), it's given me much to post about in this group. So if anything, my content exists because of anti-theism.
This image is simply a light-hearted image mocking the attitude of certain internet atheists from YouTube, this site and Reddit who label *us* as all the same. I'm not trying to generalize them all and you'd see that if you knew and understood the meme, google "feminist rally guy" for that (also I'm not the creator of this image, I just found it humorous and spot on so I uploaded it here).
I don't know what agreement you've got going with Cervi_Messias, ComradeWinston, Frenzied_Metalhead (or whoever) but their group isn't interested in civility. Anyone who gets offended at this image is probably one of the anti-theists depicted within it.
I've been in discussions with what I call "regular atheists" or "apathetic atheists" who speak of how they find these type of atheists annoying and how they distance themselves from places like r/atheism so this isn't just a view from Christians here.
If's its more agreeable to you though Mattman, I've renamed the image to "anti-theist atheists" but again, the image is simply a meme reflecting how Christians are now vilified by some and I posted it more or less for *our* amusement rather than to offend the atheists stalking this group.
But if we don't fall into either group, aren't we free to mock both?
Whatever gets posted on the Atheist group is their business, I personally just don't go over there and if they want to to post stuff that some religious people would find offensive, then it's their right. However, just because some of the folks over there do that it doesn't somehow give people over here the right to do so.
The main rule of this group is to remain respectful and not bash or belittle others beliefs. That doesn't just mean that I don't want a Catholic bashing on a Mormon. It means that I don't want to see any religion or lack thereof bashed on here. Everyone's entitled to their opinion.
The group exists for Christians to come together, they can discuss our religious beliefs, the differences and similarities between them, and other issues (including persecution if it's done in a more serious way). I just don't want to see stuff that seems like it's designed to start another "group war" posted up here.
Also for the record, I have no agreement going with anyone in the Atheist group. These two groups are not at all affiliated with each other. I let them do whatever they want to do, and I no one forces me to look at it so I don't. I take care of my own group rather than trying to police someone else's.
Well, let's be honest. All of you fall under atleast one of these.
We all have our short comings.
Likewise, we all have our prejudices.
And with a faction, or a particular group, there are always prejudices. Most commonly against another group of contradicting values.
With those who believe in the Christ however, or prejudices are expressed more out of pity, rather than hatred. For all souls cry for salvation, even those entrenched in darkness.
There may be those who are by their nature corrupt, or do things we so blatantly preach against. But we do not hate them. We pray they come to know Truth. For the Truth will set them free of their chains.
I'm not ashamed of my allegiances. Just as well I'm not ashamed of my beliefs. If anything, I'd shout them to the heavens if ordered to do so with glee.
But like the Disciple Peter, we all have our moments of weakness. We are human afterall.
All one can do is remain penitent before God.

I apparently fall under the "pathetic zealot" category. Something a former member of this group called me. I appreciated his witness and will be glad to have that testimony on my side when it comes to be my turn to stand before God. It is written "blessed is he who is zealous for the Lord". i personally have nothing against any religion. I'm just for not too much religious influence in government. To me too much can feel a little oppressive. But hey if you believe in god go ahead :) won't make me think any less. Personally i don't even like atheists because we can't disprove a god nor can we prove it. I'm apathetic and if there is a God i think he'd judge us on how good a person we've been

I understand your views on religion and government.
However with Christianity it's actually a personal relationship with Christ on a daily basis, not a religion. After all by definition a religion is a form of bondage. And what we teach and preach brings peace and freedom to one's soul. Not bondage.
God will judge us, but he also gave us all a chance at redemption through Jesus Christ and what he accomplished for us at Calvary. Any and all can accept that redemption. It's not for a select few, it's for whoever is willing.
Basically summed up, you can choose Christ and be judged now by God as righteous for your faith. Or wait till judgement day when all who choose not Salvation are sentenced.
God made this as fair as possible for us. If only all humanity was so willing...
