This group is exactly what the name implies. A group for people who are Christians. If you're a Christian then please join us. We're a place on ModDB for Christians to gather and talk. It's as simple as that.

All humanity of every color, strip, religion, faith, culture, have made their contributions.

There's nothing further to discuss.

Although some exceptional individuals radically improved and simplified our lives.

On a side note, a scientist sets aside his/her beliefs at work to fully focus on the task at hand.

Not necessarily always true. Newton was inspired by his religious beliefs.

Except for Islam unless you count condoms. Then someone else came along and took the colon out of the goat first. Okay they have contributed to high body counts in the modern world too. So I guess you were right afterall.

I'm not even going to go into that subject.

Like Equuilei said in the last picture they did preserve and maintain knowledge in the dark ages. So they deserve respect for at least that much.

The religion of Islam has been based on zealous murder since it's creation. Catholic church did the same with their Inquisition in their day torturing and murdering many in the name of heresy. And those they didn't kill were persecuted into exile.

The Bible doesn't tolerate or condone such behavior for Believers especially these days. Yet Joshua and the Israelites had their crusades in the promised land in the old testament. And the Lord flooded the Earth before, and burned Sodom and Gommorah for their perversion and heresy.

He's the same God he was in the Old Testament. But today we are living in the dispensation of Grace since Christ's coming. We preach the gospel of peace, not war and death. There will be a reckoning one day where the Lord will judge this world.

But until then we gotta job to do. People need to be presented with the opportunity of redemption. It isn't easy though, never is. I look at it this way, the struggle's build character.

Recently they have only rebelled against scientific discoveries, for the most part.

Description

I found this image on the web. It's a response to an atheist image that lists Mark Zuckerberg and Alan Turning with the caption of (to paraphrase) "if you hate atheists so much, stop using technology since these guys invented the social network you're using and the computer you're typing on."

Someone created this as a response to show that Christians have contributed more to technology with Charles Babbage laying the framework for computer technology, Alessandro Volta creating batteries which power them, Isaac Newton being responsible for the mathematical equation by which wifi and radio signals run on and Benjamin Franklin being responsible for how we can use electricity to power technology.

And it's not saying "oh if you hate Christians, don't use the technology" because we understand that this argument is bogus. The image was simply made to show that any group can be held up and used in this way.

Although this image certainly does refute some generalizations from some atheists who feel the need to claim that Christianity has been anti-science, being ignorant to the many contributions Christians have provided science throughout history.

Benjamin Franklin is almost the odd one out in this image but apparently, whilst being a "deist" he still identified as a Christian who followed the moral teachings of Jesus. This type of deist can be identified as a "Christian deist" which is a term that can be traced to 1738 in a book by Thomas Morgan and is a full blown philosophy and ideology.
