You wake up near a plane crash in the middle of a desert. Your only salvation lies in following letters left by the pilot, hoping someone will come to save him. To survive this endeavor you must find. . . Rick Tanely. A non-traditional exploration title from Bunny Metal Entertainment. Make your way through the abandoned Paradise Canyon Resort, years ago retaken by the desert, every step you take; a step closer to death. Every minute you stop to think; a minute closer to your last. Your only guide; the notes left by a pilot at the end of his rope. Welcome to Paradise.

Update 1.5

News

For simplicity's sake, here's the gist of the update:

We've added a satchel, so you can look back through the notes you've collected to find out where you are supposed to be going. Twenty new side story letters to find throughout the dessert, forcing you to backtrack across the entirety of the game world. We've also added a "Score" at the end credits, so you can gnash your teeth over how many of the side letters you missed. All in good "fun."

Might as well get right down to it. Here is the official changelog:

Added 20 short additional Sidestory Letters in three separate strings
Added a Satchel for storing and re-reading letters
Added "Score" to the credit sequences
Added some personality to the "Main Building"
Changed the look of the credit sequences
Added "Cycles" and corresponding features
Changed minimum android version to 4.4.3 (KitKat)

Fixed Not being able to click anything with Heat Haze enabled
Fixed being able to continue from checkpoint after the credits roll
Fixed the "sliding" in random places bug
Took away the ability to fall off the cliff
Fixed other bugs I've since forgotten about

We are in the planning stages of the 2.0 update, which will move the game from Unity3d 5.2 to Unity3d 5.4, which doesn't come out till June-ish, so we're forced to wait. Our goal is to make the entire game a much more fluid experience, getting rid of the "Loading" areas.

Funny how the previous update article referred to these features as planned for 1.1, but we ended up skipping that entirely. Ha.

Until next time,

-Ian Vaughn

News

The first sizable update to Welcome to Paradise, bringing it to version 1.0.10. The number might be small but that doesn't mean it was insignificant.
