Playable demo (5 scenarios).
Universal Combat by 3000 AD - playable demo
This is the demo for Universal Combat, previously known as Battlecruiser
Generations. This demo is not reflective of the full game and therefore a
plethora of features are disabled, missing etc. It will however give you a
basic idea of how the game plays.
The intent of this tutorial is also to show you how this game can be complex or
simple, depending on your play style.
This demo contains five scenarios which are based on several game careers -
including the brain freeze inducing, slack jawed producing, highly advanced
Commander career.
If you like the demo and would like to support us by purchasing the game, make
a beeline for your nearest shop or online retailer. Without your support, indie
developers like us will no longer be able to develop high end niche titles
which cater to a specific group of gamers. You can find more info on Universal
Combat on our website products page.

GETTING STARTED
While you are waiting for the demo to download or install, please give this
tutorial a quick run through and print it if at all possible.
After the demo is installed, run it using the shortcut located on your desktop
or use the one located in your Start / Program Files group.
If the demo fails to start, please read the included troubleshooting FAQ. Most
common startup problems are related to either video drivers, video AVI codes
(for playing the intro splash screen) or failure of the target system to meet
the game's requirements. Please read the relevant sections located in the FAQ
if you have startup problems.
The requirements for the game and this demo are located on the product info
page on our website. However the MINIMUM requirements are as follows:
WIN 98SE/ME/2K/XP (with all service packs)
DirectX 9 or higher runtime
Pentium III 1Ghz or equivalent AMD processor
128MB RAM
32MB DirectX 8.1 compliant graphics card with vertex shader 1.1
DirectX 8 compliant sound card
8X CDROM or DVD-ROM
1GB uncompressed hard drive disk space
Mouse
If you do not know if your video card supports vertex shader 1.1, please read
this discussion thread on our forum. Unless your video card supports vs 1.1,
the demo, nor the full game, will run. There is no workaround for this.
After the demo has loaded, you can go click on the OPTIONS screen to tweak some
of the settings. For more information about the various options and to restore
the default settings, please refer to the configuration options PDF file
located in the DOCS folder where this demo is installed.
NOTE: Once the game has started and you are in the game world, you can pause
the demo at any time by using the PAUSE key on your keyboard. Press any key to
resume the game.
