0.9's Editor has been updated in a lot of different areas. In addition to speed and performance improvements, we also have new functions that can be used to customise your map a little further.
The Cover Brush can be used to manually apply or override cover in your maps, as well as showing you exactly where the cover will be in your map.
Normally, the game works out the cover for you based on the type and number of features in close proximity to each other. While this is still a thing, you can override any part of the map to use whatever cover you want and stop the game auto-applying certain cover to those areas.
So if you want an open field to issue negative cover, go for it! If you want a rocky area to offer heavy cover instead of light, then you can! If you want shallow water to offer heavy cover instead of negative, then you can do that as well! Even if you want to outright remove the heavy cover from a forest, that can be done as well.

The cover feature fit the gameplay surprisingly well. It has actually matured into a tactical option.
